I recently saw Brad Paisley play some amazing stuff. I thought he was just country's version of Justin, but he's actually talented.

Keith Urban can play pretty well, too.

Country players don't cover their playing with effects, generally. They pick clean.

Yup. Gatton and Gill are great examples of that.


My own favorite, though he doesn't seem to be shredding nearly as much in this as in other pieces, is the one and only Phil Keaggy.

He's a mix of rock n' roll and country, but James Burton is a great imo. He's played with everyone from Elvis, Emmy-Lou Harris, Gram Parsons and Rick Nelson.

And, while not strictly a guitar player, Earl Scruggs is the god of the bluegrass banjo imo. cool
