PLS

BOY BANDS! ugh

also all the carbon-copy, model type, teeniebopper girl singers & girl groups who can't sing, write music, play anything, etc. where all they *can* do is dress up in skanky outfits and jiggle around while they twitter out some lame, cliched lyrics. vapid, meaningless, soulless DRIVEL. i am SO SICK of it.

and i'm not into rap though i acknowledge its relevence and importance to music so take my opinion for what it's worth, but i'm getting tired of the same rap/R&B stuff shoved down my throat everywhere. it all sounds the SAME to me. and what's with these rap people who are ALL IN EACH OTHER'S VIDEOS and stuff? on the VMAs last night when they were showing the nominees for the best rap video or whatever, it seemed like *all the same people* were in each other videos and on each other's songs??? why is that??? and i have to say all that posing and affectation and attitude gets old after awhile.

radio and MTV nowadays is pretty much empty, IMO.

it makes me think of these lyrics from The Smiths 'Panic':
"Burn down the disco
Hang the blessed DJ
Because the music that they constantly play
It says nothing to me about my life
Hang the blessed DJ
Because the music they constantly play.."

Hey what about P Daddy or Puff Diddy, whatever the f**k he calls himself! They say he "invented the remix" - excuse me, but the concept of remixing was around b4 this shmuck was even born!! U want an artist with no talent, look no further.

Agreed!

I'm sick of P. Diddy and anything he's connected with.

Actually let me include 95% of the crap acts out there today. When did we remove the "talent" category from the requirements to be an artist.

Maybe it's my age showing, but it seems that all forms of popular music, from pop to rap, have gotten really bad lately.

I mean anyone else remember the 80s, before MTV became the annoying thing is is, when you actually had to have some talent else you went by the wayside.

***Alicia Keyes---Don't get me wrong,I think she is really talented and will do great things in her career.But did she REALLY deserve 5 Grammys for a CD with only *ONE* real hit single? I just don't think she has really proven herself as an artist,but yet they hype her up like she is the next Aretha Franklin or something.

***Ashanti---Again,the same problem.Ashanti is beautiful and all,but why did Soul Train give her that Aretha Franklin Achievement Award?! She's only done *ONE* CD with one real hit on it!! Nowadays,they don't even allow an artist to prove themself.They have one great year and already,they're winning multiple Grammys and other Awards.Ashanti is a weak vocalist and her CD doesn't even have any original music on it.

***Lenny Kravitz---By criticizing him,I'm really going out on a limb here,because I know that many of you like him...lol...but I just find his music incredibly bland and not very original.His rock star posturing is also annoying.Don't get me wrong,I think he HAS talent,it's just that,so far,I haven't heard anything groundbreaking or unique from him.

I'm sick of every rapper present and future. And I'm not a red neck. Seriously, most rap sux these days. Too many rappers and not enuff talent to go around. It's like all those heavy metal bands of the 80s

And man there's almost nothing worse than a prefectly good song (usually SUNG by a woman who can sing) being screwed up by a duet with a rapper who couldn't sing if his life depended on it.

LadyQ

I'm pretty much sick of everyone who was on the VMAs last night. Weren't these same songs nominated last year? Okay I admit I'm not sick of Linkin Park yet. But here's who I'm really sick of:

Eminem: Okay, liked his single "Without Me" but that's it. I just like the groove and how he raps, but I intentionally don't listen to the lyrics because I'm sick of him using "shock" to get over. He's like a $5 media ho. He'll just keep going and and going to the edge until he gets rifuckindiculous. He ain't the only guy who's had a messed up life and he won't be the last - and if his music is his therapy, I certainly ain't paying him to be his friggin' therapist.

Pink: I like the groove "get the party started" and she's a great singer, but her image is annoying. Her toughness is so phoney and it's like major overkill. 'Nuff already.

Ja Rule: Sit down, boy! So lame I'm surprised they don't put a couch up there on stage so everyone could recline while they're singing.

P-Diddy: Stick to clothing.

NSync: There's only so many variations of the same song producers can write. (Yawn)

Britney: Thank you for taking a break from music. We all thank you. Take as much time as you need - forever if you wish.

Shakira: Isn't it time for a new album? Also, there are many more interesting moves in belly dancing than that.

Avril Lavigne: I can tell I'm gonna be sick of her. Someone's pumping big money behind her and hopefully it's just money. Also, isn't there enough jailbait in music. How about someone that can stay out past 10 o'clock.

Lets make this simple..

MTV! Music Insiders

Mtv for slamming "POP Music" down our throats.. even though it has been DONE/OVER since 2000.

yeah I know making all that money on "Merchindise" gets you greedy.. but NO one likes this crap!

* They are trying sooo hard for us to NEVER have another "grudge take over" like in 1991..

What they are doing is whenever there is a Great or Good new band.. THEY FLOOD the market with 10 rip off bands .. so we get sick of it...

so NO one music will take over.

MTV is sooo over! The dumb shows, the aweful $4 million dollar videos from acts that sing live.

Is there a R & B Market anymore? I mean come on EVERY video and act looks the same. EVERY "BET Video" looks the same.. In R & B and Rap on that station

Pound,Pound Man&all 3 IMHO have a Strange Unique thing in Common they all seem like Cover Artists or have made there mark at Being at best Re-cycle Acts overall IMHO.Keys jacked James Brown's "It's a Mans World" for Fallen.Ashanti is the female Puffy on the R&B lite tip of Sampling IMHO.Lenny Kravitz is a Poser overall&takes Elements from everywhere&underneath the pile He is Burried.I have most of His stuff on tape&Maybe a disc or two but pretty much have stopped even walking in that direction of my music collection in the House to listen to anything He does.

Without prejudice, there is one artist [?] that I would particularly like to disappear from my radar...

P. Diddy: "Yeah", Uh-huh", "Bad boy" "C'mon" - And that's a rap! Taken out of context those words form an entirely different connotation...whip

Other notables who immediately come to mind include:

* Ashanti
* Ja Rule
* Justin Timberlake
* Sisquo

What does this "Puffy" guy actually DO, anyway? I saw one of his videos to one of his "songs" and it was him posing in the corner while OTHER PEOPLE rapped and sang... Some say he's a "producer..." OK, but how much credit does a guy who turns knobs and gets other people to do things get?
