I agree 100000%
I can listen to very little solo Bjork. It just strikes me as self-indulgent crap with little or no melody to speak of. I respect her talent and I love her voice, and I don't even mind the SOUND of the solo stuff, but the songs are just a mess. Sugarcubes, though... they rocked, especially on "Life's Too Good." Great, primal, rock. Am I dating myself? I remember when Sugarcubes first came out and fell in love with them then.. I was sad when they broke up, and I LOATHED Bjork's solo debut.

Funny thing is, it is ALL melody, and it is clear when you hear string quartets play Bjork's songs.

I remember seeing the video for Birthday late at night on some video show that wasn't MTV before their album came out and became an instant fan.

I wish I could get into her solo stuff, cuz I WANT to like it, but it just grates my nerves for some reason. Oh well. I do like "I've Seen it All" and a few other select tracks.

I love the Sugarcubes. I wish Bjork would have stayed with them.

I love them too, but she was meant to be a solo artist.
