B'Day Re-Release???

Is it true that there's suppose to be a re-release of Beyonce's B'day with new songs, a Shakira duet and a spanish version of Irreplaceable?

I'm not buying it but I sooo hate that this is becoming a regular for record companies. I fell for it when it it first started happening but no more. Now I feel like even if it's an album from my favorite artist maybe I should wait 8-12 months or so when the re-release comes out. confused

Yeah that's what im hearing,.. which is odd considering that she's now stating that Sony is not gonna pay for anymore videos and she's gonna have to fit the bill for videos for Upgrade and Greenlight

Why pay for promoting the album so new listeners will buy it. Fuck that! Take advantage of fans that already own it and rerelease!

Really? Do the labels have a limit or are they just moving on when they think the project is done? I heard Sony is not paying for Janet’s With U single. A different situation but still I’m a little surprised at the Beyonce decision.

I hate when Latin artists crossover to American markets. Something is lost along the way.

I agree. Especially the lyrical content. Shakira is a great example of that.

It's almost like she's the equivalent of a modern day Gloria Estefan...

It's almost similar, but Gloria is a more acomplished songwriter than Shakira, both in english and spanish.

Well Gloria started as a member of Miami Sound Machine doing music in spanish (several albums if I'm not mistaken), then the band crossoverd with Dr. Beat to the English Market...then Gloria released her english stuff as all of us now. She only ventured to a pure solo spanish album with Mi Tierra in the yearly 90's. (She released some versions of her hit songs in spanish and portuguese before Mi Tierra...)

I think so! Especially in the english language she is.

Still Shakira's Piel Descalzos is better that all of gloria's spanish albums together in terms of lyrics

Of course Gloria is better at the English language her family left Cuba to come to Miami when she was 2.

Gloria has more ofa back catelouge in Spanish too so maybe that's why you feel that way?
