Pet Shop Boys - Post 'Alternative' B-sides

hey hey

i've been out of the loop on the whole pet shop boys releases
a bit since after the release of the b-side set "Alternative"

so it was pretty easy to get the albums i missed out on and a
cool collection called "PopArt".

i even got some of the Further Listening albums, but only two
(Actually.Introspective).

but the one thing that is hardest to get a hold of is all the
b-sides they released in the meantime.

have they perhaps released some foreign disc containing a set
of those b-sides released after "Alternative"? (or to be more
precise, after "Very").

i'd love to hear all those songs but it would be nice if they
were all on 1 album, like Alternative.

There's not another B-sides album and with the Further Listening series open who really needs them?
You can make your own CD but I do prefer to have them in their right place.
I still buy the CD singles though for the extra songs while I wait for the FL

No. But there was a special edition of Nightlife with the B-sides and remixes (before the actual FL series started)
and Disco3 was like the B-side to Release.

The other FL albums are all scheduled for release. Don't worry, be patient smile

Plus you can get the EPs and Remixes at the iTunes store if you own an iPod, that is.

i'm looking for them now on their official site.

there's so much material eek

it's like they have almost an album's worth of
new material on their singles for each album..

just for "release", i found:

nightlife
break 4 love
sexy northerner
always
friendly fire
searching for the face of jesus
between two islands
positive role model

and that's not counting the new tracks on the
Disco 3 album, which in a way is an extension
of Release.

eek eek

this makes me wish for more Prince bsides sad

anyway, i think i'll yabse some of this since
it's fucking expensive to get all this stuff.

Look! 30 tracks, like the first Alternative

The truck driver and his mate
Hit and miss
Betrayed
How I learned to hate rock 'n' roll
The calm before the storm
The boy who couldn't keep his clothes on
Delusions of grandeur
The view from your balcony
Disco potential
Silver age
Screaming
Je t'aime... moi non plus
The ghost of myself
Casting a shadow
Lies
Break 4 Love
Sexy Northerner
Always
Friendly Fire
Searching for the face of Jesus
Between two islands
We're the Pet Shop Boys
Transparent
I didn't get where I am today
The Resurrectionist
Girls Don't Cry
Blue on blue
No Time for Tears
Bright young things
Party song

There are some amazing tracks on that list. "I Didn't Get Where I Am Today" in particular ROCKS. It should have been a single.

No, just kidding. I must admit that I wanted to run from the gay stigma of liking the PSB. BUT... they have some amazing tracks out there.

Maybe now I have grown somewhat older and wiser (coughs) I might be able to get into them.

Isten... teach me.

Many of these tracks can be found on the Special Editions of their albums. I know Release had an extra disc and NightlIfe did as well. Fundamental was released with the special edition in mind (though I wish they had gone in a Relentless direction with that.

I do have to say all the B-Sides for Fundamental are simply awesome!

Party Song and Bright Young things from the Numb single are worth seeking out.

Bright Young Things I was amazed was NOT chosen for Fundamental. Party Song, had Neil worked on his vocals better would have been a killer track on it too.
