I read almost every entry of his blog.
Shitty to hear him feel down, but to hear him say "I make these records more for the critics than for the fans"... shouldn't that be some sort of revelation? [Edited 12/13/06 21:33pm]

[Edited 12/13/06 21:33pm] \ the critical acclaim seem to be their bread and butter besides the touring. the fans will come to the shows, but for this record to only sell as much as it did.... are the fans holding up their end of the bargain?

Show 'em a hit, and they'll show you sales.

"Here I Come" and "Long Time" could've taken off with the proper push. I hope this doesn't deter them from continuing to expand their artistic visions in order to pursue hit driven records [Edited 12/14/06 0:39am]

I've bought every album they've put out. I dig them just fine, they always have a few jewels on every album. Though I think none have really been as good to me as Do You Want More?!?!! (however many ?'s and !'s are in that damn title).
If I had to come up with a playlist, it would look something like this: Mellow My Man Distortion To Static Proceed The Next Movement Dynamite! You Got Me Rock You The Seed Stay Cool Star/Pointro In The Music They are definitely a pillar of the increasingly bleak hip-hop scene. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

A lot of work went into this record and it shows. They did a ferocious version of "Here I come" on the Letterman Show. I though that would've gotten the ball rolling on the album. I really havent noticed much of a push from their label. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I really havent noticed much of a push from their label. They've never been an easy act to market. That doesn't excuse the label from trying, though. They've been in the game a while, but they're still a fresh alternative to a lot of the pop and hip-hop on the radio. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

They've got a rabid fan base. Apparently one that goes to shows, but doesnt buy records. The Roots seem to be in a good position, though. Their tours always do well, and they've become the go-to hip hop house band (especially for VH1). I still thought this album would've blown up a little, but then again, its not all about record sales. I'll still be rocking "Game Theory" for a while because its a good record. I don't see their shows but I buy their records. Even when I'm not really feelin' some of their tracks, they still manage to represent well. They'll be fine and will survive long after the era of the studio gangsta is gone. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Saw them in Hamburg in November. It was loud as hell (ouch!), but rocked. They can play. The guitarist was great.

I'm not surprised Mojo didn't include them in the top 50 albums. I never liked lists myself and don't understand why he would be upset.

I love them. My friend got me into these guys sometime last year. I saw them for the first time early this year. And they were great. They're coming back to the Norva here in VA in March. Can't wait. I graduated bitches!!! 12-19-09
