Misheard Lyrics

...

Ok, I'll admit it...

I must've head a blown speaker, or wax in my ears, or something...

But it first sounded to me like the Bee Gees were singing, "Bald-headed woman....Bald headed Woman to me..." (and what's worse, apparently I'm not the only one!!)...why didn't i hear More Than A Woman like most normal citizens?

Somebody else said they misheard it as, "Four- Legged Woman", (which, to me actually makes more sense than my "Bald-headed' , at least phonetically, lol )

But Who was it that was listening to The Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love" and thought they heard this lyric:

" and you come to me on a Submarine...." lol

What other Lyrics have y'all gotten completely wrong?

I don't understand how you can mishear the TITLES of the song.

Like, hey, Ima cue up this song "More Than A Woman"... what u think it sayin?

But I can co-sign the other line of Blinded By The Light. I can't even remember what the real lyrics is. lol

Back then, songs would just come on the radio...if it was new, and you didn't know the title, you'd just listen....Of course you find out the title eventually, lol

As a kid my mom loved Cat Stevens and the song "Get on the peace train" I always thought was "Get on the G-String" which I thought was weird even as a kid. lol

'revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night'

That's the Manfred Mann version. The original, which was recorded and written by Bruce Springsteen was a slightly different lyric:

'cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night'

Beatles, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - 'The girl with colitis goes by'

The Rasmus, In the Shadows - Hate the song but I could always hear 'I've been watching, I've been wanking, in the shadows' in the chorus. biggrin

There's a late night show on Japanese TV that has a misheard lyrics slot - that is Japanese words heard in foreign (mostly English) lyrics. Prince songs have been featured loads of times. The one I remember most is the 'Don't stop dancing!' shout in Batdance, which sounds just like 'Farm Co-op Milk' in Japanese. The accompanying video had a pack of Farm Co-op Milk rising up out of the ground on an elevator in a cloud of dry ice... Hmm, maybe you had to be there... confused

From Janet's "Again":

When I was little, my friends and I used to sing the "Hold me, hold meee. Don't ever let me go" as "Homie, homieee. Don't ever let me go" and used to crack ourselves up every time, even though we knew damn well that those weren't the lyrics. But go back and listen to it! That's exactly what it sounds like! I was listening to it last night in my car and laughing to myself thinking about it.

Here's one I know you can relate to.

The first time I listened to That's Why People Fall In Love by Thomas Dolby, this is what I thought I heard...

That's why.
White People fall in love.
