Billy Ocean: LoverBoy I was reading about him at CDNow and found this bit of info..
"But breakthrough success was just around the corner for Ocean, as he scored a massive hit single in 1984 with "Caribbean Queen," a track that shot to the top of the charts worldwide. Depending on the region, the song's title and lyrics were changed slightly, resulting in the tune being known as "African Queen" and "European Queen" in other parts of the world, while the album it was taken from, Suddenly, was eventually certified double platinum (a few other singles, a cover of Prince's "Loverboy" and the ballad "Suddenly," were also successful)." "Prince's 'Loverboy'"? WTF?! Prince didn't write this did he? Anybody?

The songwriters were: Keith Diamond, Billy Ocean and Robert John 'Mutt' Lange - also according to CD Now - see credits at: http://cdnow.com/switch/f...241+1271+2 [This message was edited Tue Aug 27 10:16:56 PDT 2002 by langebleu] ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

"Nights You Feel Like Getting Down"(1981) is my favorite Ocean track. Co-sign. As far as the misinformation on CDNow's site; when in doubt the best thing to do (if you need to research something on the net) is find more than one site with the credits to the album or song. I used to have a job a long time ago where I had to look up information on the AllMusic.com site, and found plenty of inaccurate information. I even found one album by Louis Jordan with Prince credited as writing the song. And for those of you who know who Jordan was you know how supremely silly that is. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Billy was so pathetic for altering song lyrics to please the women by geographical location.
