Does anyone have any information on a new cd by D'angelo entitled James River?
If so, please share. Thanks in advance.

If he doesn't already feel like he is drowning in his own demons, I can't imagine the additional pressure of following up an album as time/expectation grows.

Not really. Not if that's how long it takes one to get their life together. Hopefully his is.

Wouldn't you would rather know that he's well mentally, physically and spiritually even if it means he's given it all up and now lives on some mountain in Tibet?

Or would you rather a CD per year, regardless of all else?

yeah yeah i hate that he tooks so long to put an album out, but if ole dude would have been crooning out albums every year or so, he would have been played out by now..am i right? we'd been sick of him....so this long ass period of time gives me a little appreciation of him. plus, all this time, his album has must be or probably will be off the chain.

If that is the choice, a healthy LIFE above all else. There is NOTHING else.

...LIFE...
Right. LIFE is a good thing to have too. Who knows where the pressures of churning out the CD's would have lead him. Maybe it would have cut it all short.

Makes you wonder how many would be still here if they had taken a bit of time off to get the other stuff right.

Anyway, I'm glad he's got something in the works and on the way. I'll be first in line to pick it up.

Those damn modern day soul artists take FOREVER...

Badu (fuck, 2007 for an actual full length LP as a follow up to 2000's Mama's Gun???)

Sade (lord knows when her next one will come...the last gap was 92 to 00)

D'angelo (Hmmm...1995...2000...2007?)

Jill Scott (2000...2004)

It's unreal. But real music takes time...
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

nod
waiting on Sade is like waiting on the world to end. and Jill's last album sounded like scrap. i could only bare to listen to 3 of the tracks on the whole album alone. Hope her next one is way better.
