Does Anybody Of You Remember Her?

Talk about obscure talent...

The self-titled song was sampled by J.Lo and LL Cool J in her song "All I Have" if anybody recollects at that.

"Very Special" was the only song I ever heard from her.

Just the one cut because it was sampled so many times, even before J.Lo got her tentacles on it.

Of course I remember this. I still have the 7" 45. Came out in the fall of '81. Every Thursday was Disco Night at my alma mater(Adelphi Univ.) When 'Very Special' came on, it was time to slow grind.

Thanks for posting the pic. I had never seen her before and isn't her family also talented? Her brother is Ronnie Laws right?

"Love Comes Easy" by Eloise Laws (1977) music

If you guys have never heard this song,go find it NOW! It's a lush, dreamy R&B song that will hypnotize you!! Reminds me of the best Gamble and Huff ballads.Be careful though: there is a re-release of her 1977 album 'The Key' on CD but it appears that the songs have been re-recorded neutral You want to find the original 1977 version!

Very talented musical family indeed.

...Elder statesman Hubert Laws (probably the premiere Jazz flautist)

...Older sister and vocalist Eloise Laws.

...Last but not least, Ronnie Laws

To tell you the truth, i've heard her guesting on other albums (Hubert, Ronnie, Harvey Mason) than her own.

They're also featured on a Hubert Laws album called Family (Debra sings the title track)!

This is funny, I was just doing a post on Hubert Laws and Herbie Hancock, playing on Quincy Jones' - "Tell Me A Bedtime Story"

Oh yeah! What a voice this lady has, she is very talented. I love her song "Very Special", the duet she did with her brother.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Mary J. Blige also sampled that for the title track to What's The 411.
