I have said repeatedly that 1983 is one of the most amazing years for pop music. This song is another reason why.

Between them and Dexy's Midnight Runners, there's still enough rag tag, "loveable," mop top street urchins to last us into the next millenium. Hadn't heard that one in a long time, and now I'm sure it'll be stuck in my head.

Funny,I didn't know that the lead singer was Black lol this is the first time I have actually seen the video, lol.

I love this comment from one of the viewers on YouTube who likes this song:

These kids today just don't know how much they are being cheated out of good music. If and when they find out, they should be upset.

Oh god, I love this song.

Made a mixtape with this song and Len's "Steal My Sunshine." Just a bunch of bright 80s and 90s trax.

I hear stuff like this and I'm 15 again, and my mom's driving me and some friends to the theater to see 'Sixteen Candles'. It's a good feeling.

I'm surprised that this wasn't a bigger hit. It's as catchy as Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" or The Fixx's "One Thing Leads To Another".

This has always reminded me of Get Happy-era Elvis Costello, though he never wrote anything quite this flat-out fun.

I don't know where he's been. shrug

Anyways, yes it is one of my favorite songs of the 80's, but not my #1. nod That spot currently goes to "Changeling" by Simple Minds. But my #1 song always changes.
NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
