just got back from U2's final vertigo show in honolulu!!! oh man, what can i say! not much, cuz i'm dead tired and still recovering from a show with pearl jam and billie joe from green day joining U2 for their last night on tour.
smack in the middle of my finals, i shot out to honolulu to catch my favorite rock band perform their last show of a great tour. a tour i was lucky enough to catch 7 times in three cities. for those of you interested in the band, here's the setlist for the last show: City of Blinding Lights Vertigo Elevation I Will Follow I Still Haven’t Found What I'm Looking For Beautiful Day Angel of Harlem Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses (with a fan from the audience on keyboards) The First Time Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own Love and Peace Sunday Bloody Sunday Bullet The Blue Sky Miss Sarajevo Pride (in the Name of Love) Where the Streets have no Name One The Fly Mysterious Ways With or Without You Window in the Skies The Saints are Coming (with billie joe armstrong) Rockin’ in the Free World (with billie joe, eddie vedder and mike mccreedy) All I Want is You pearl jam opened and though i'm not a fan, i'd go see a full show of theirs anytime. they freakin' rocked! i'm still soaking it all in. i went to the opening and closing shows of the elevation tour and they don't compare to this. i won't go so far as to say it was the best u2 show i've ever been to but it was one of the top two (and both were vertigo shows). i went to popmart, elevation, and this tour...i think pop is the stongest album of the three tours BUT the philly crowd sucked waaaay too much to make it the best show. anyway, i'm just gonna ramble if i stick around. gotta get some sleep and walk the dog, but sadly not in that order. . I really wish I could've made it to this. I half considered it even.
So glad you had a great time! How long were you in Hawaii?

it was fantastic. i'm still high from it all, and that's saying a lot considering i came home to an exam yesterday. we left thursday afternoon, arriving in honolulu at about 8pm. i had an exam that morning so i couldn't leave any sooner. then, because of an exam on monday morning, we had to leave sunday night. so we were not there nearly long enough. i'll go back though, because the flight is relatively cheap from san franciso.

What'd you think of Oahu? Where'd you stay? Did you do any fun stuff other than the show while you were there?

Did you do any fun stuff other than the show while you were there? we stayed in waikiki (though we should have stayed in kailua, much less populated). we went to a few great restaurants, hung out with a friend who lives by diamond head, went to the beach...but i studied a lot and that kind of put a damper on things. i knew going into it that i would be studying (either on the beach or in the room) for my property exam so i didn't get my hopes up for anything but the show. i think we're gonna go back during my spring break next semester.
