This kind of lite 70s-80s music is pretty much what we listen to everyday in our house.

That redhead next to Dick Clark is so hot!

Don't feel bad about loving this song....I have a few albums by Ms. Nightingale. Her other hit was called, "Right back, to where we started". She is doing a lot of 70's revue shows lately and is in a band in England. Yes, she is not bad looking, either.

I like this song too, even though it's kind of cheesy...so is her other big hit "Right Back Where We Started From".

There is nothing to feel shame about lol It's a good song, one that people who aren't used to harmony and melody (i.e., your average current top 40 radio listener) will likely dismiss outright. The production reminds me of the Bee Gees.

well as someone said, I think this song is my personal "guilty pleasure." I can admit that this song is VERY cheesy and "Vegas-lounge act" but I still like it. It will never make a list of the "BEST" songs ever, bet I like it... biggrin

I mean come on...there's a thread about the greatness of Raydio's "Cant Change That." Another cheesy song, and also another one of my favorite songs wink

What's funny about digging this song? I've always loved this song. I bump this in my ride right now. Right along with "Please Don't Go" by KC and the Sunshine Band. Right along with one of my all time faves "Into The Night" by Benny Mardones. All 3 of these songs came aout around the same time. Maxine is indeed fine today. I also dig her first hit "Right Back Where We Started From". Shit, let people laugh. Who cares? U like what u like.

Don't feel bad. Yesterday while driving, I found myself nodding my head to "My Maria" by Brooks and Dunn! I even sang along on the part where they sing "Marie-EEEEE-UHHHHH!" Embarassing lol

LOVE THIS SONG!! music I love most of those big, schmaltzy, ballads from the 70s.These songs have great lyrics and an actual melody. This song is the type of tune that Olivia Newton John would have done, before her 'Grease' heyday, that is.Maxine Nightingale is a great singer.I saw her recently on those TV specials that feature the 70s R&B artists singing their old hits. She still looks and sounds great.

I've seen her 'Lead Me On' CD in stores and I've been wanting to buy it.This album had been out of print for years,so many fans are thrilled that it is now on CD.However,I heard that the sound quality on this CD is really poor....as if they didn't use the master recording.Did anybody buy this CD? How is the sound quality? Is it worth buying?

One of my all time favorite songs...

Took me forever to learn that she also sang Right Back Where We Started From. Saw her perform both songs on one of those PBS oldie specials and she looked and sounded great.

I don't understand why she doesn't have an album with that song in print...And it's not all that easy to find on compliations even though it's used everywhere (probably her bigger hit but not by much....both were pretty big and still get some play).

I ain't laughing: I LOVED this back in the day, it was out around the same time as Samantha Sang's 'Emotion' and my big sister used to BLASST the 45's on Saturday's while we were stuck cleaning the house and she was lamenting over some boy lol!

Are you referring to her 1976 hit "Right Back Where We Started From"? That song is hella easy to find! I have it on about a dozen different compilations...LOL..."Lead Me On" is harder to find.

Really? Couldn't find it online but I haven't looked in a while either.
