If there was a surprise with The Mary Jane Girls' "In My House," it was it became a big pop hit (No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1984). Rick James-produced songs generally did not fare that well with crossover audiences. My favorites are "Boys" and "Candy Man". "In My House" is OK though but not as strong as the other two.
