Classic lyrics:

Now you can change your telephone number
You can change your address, too
but you can't stop me from loving you - no, you can't change that
You can change the color of your hair
You can change the clothes you wear
but you'll never change the way I care - no, you can't change that

Nowadays, they would just call it a stalkers anthem on something like that I Love the 80s show. Back then, people were a lot less pessimistic, snide and sarcastic.

That may be why there are fewer songs like this these days.

Great song. I put it on a tape for one of my pieces a few years ago and to this very day, every time I hear the song I think of him. My phone rang one night at 3 a.m. and when I answered it, all I heard was his drunk ass singing that song, not even realizing that his phone was on. My number was programmed into his cell phone and he had accidently pressed a button that called me. When I told him about it later, he said...."Did I sound good". I said "Hell no!" lol

I remember seeing them peform this back in '79 on a show in South Carolina called "John Man Caravan" or somethin' like that. Great song. You ever noticed that Ray Parker never really "sang"? He sort of talked-sang...Great guitar player as well...
