Good Mariah Carey song? Yes...she has to have some that matter! So I put in this category: The Roof (my favorite mimi song!) Fantasy (Bad Boy Remix feat ODB)

"Fly Like A Bird" She should do more songs like this!! Forget all that sampled,midtempo,hip-hop-sounding crap...I wanna hear more songs like this from her!

It's much easier 4 me 2 put it this way
Deep/Obscure/Edgy songs: Petals Breakdown The Roof Alone In Love Lullaby Close My Eyes/Outside The Wind Regal Classic: Vision Of Love We Belong Together Remixes: Anytime You Need A Friend (C&C Extended Remix - CRAZY scatting in there) Can't Take That Away (Morales Revival) Daydream Interlude (VERY underrated) B-Sides: Slipping Away There For Me Do You Think Of Me

she's one of those artists whose biggest hits are her worst i.e. honey, one sweet day, i'll be there, heartbreaker, thank god i found you, shake it off etc...
the gems are the album tracks

That's one of my very favorites. I couldn't understand the vocal sample at the time. "What? 'I've got you fucked on the railing?'" It didn't make sense to me. It's got an eery, haunting vibe to it. Tacky video though. She looks like Venux Xtravaganza.

My favorites are the blank spaces on her CDs between the songs. Those are the best things she's ever done. Andy is a four letter word.

"The Roof" (I agree!)
"Your Girl" "Petals" "I Am Free" (Cheesy, but it gets to me) "Heartbreaker" "Fantasy" "Lullaby" "Clown" "She made me glad to be a man"

I don't mean this as a putdown but
I consider myself more of a fan of her meltdowns than her music.

My sister is a Mariah super fan (or lamb, I think) so I was a bit turned off by her for a while. Big time overexposure! But, I do love one song, "Can't Let Go." It's a very well written pop song.

I'm happy this thread is turning alright! Glad to see some of you pointing some songs from Rainbow and Butterfly. For me Butterfly is still one of the best, or maybe the best mariah carey album

There are quite a lot that I like but I think "Looking in" is amazing and many times overlooked. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
