Question about MJ song Human Nature

I have listened to this song hundreds of times, searched lyrics sites. However, I have never learned what Michael is singing in the back ground...right after "If they say why..." It is not listed in any lyrics I have ever read, it sounds something like " She's giving in .....a round"
I know that isn't right, but it is as close as I can get. It is repeated within the chorus about 4 times towards the last minute of the song.

I have noticed it for years and always wondered..partly because I think that part is beautiful. I am surprised of all the google searches nothing is said about it.I tried to EQ it and still can't tell.

Please someone help?

"Did u love somebody
But got no love in return?
Did u understand the real meaning of love?
That it just is and never yearns"

Off the top of my head I have no clue what you're referring to... give us a range or start/end points of minutes/seconds within the song to listen to.

I always assumed he was just skatting. Although, I listened again and it still sounds like scatting, sort of like (sha do be wa) repeated twice but the "In a round" part to me, sounds like he's saying "baby girl" so, who knows. Theres part on his song "I Can't Help It" where he's scatting but to me it clearly sounds like he's saying my name although, I'm quite sure he's not.smile

What it sounds like is....."she's giving in why..giving in..why..play around". Which kinda makes sense. Remember he is talking about, "Human Nature" and how it can make you funny things.

Human Nature is the one song that comes to mind that brings that amazing feeling of my youth when Michael Jackson was well Michael Jackson! Before he became crazy.

God I remember a time when he was only about music and not putting out "jacko stunts" & cared about music, dancing and growing as an artist first.

I think if MJ didn't become so ego driven and actually went out, hung out,etc..

Human Nature & really Off the Wall & Thriller (both albums) were from his one real time to have fun without his insane Father. This was when he hung out with Latoya in the late 1970's in Studio 54. If you listen to the lyrics on these 2 albums they are from these real life experiences.

He has lived off this moment of this life of hanging out with normal people at Studio 54. Just that whole era. All his albums, ideas, lyrics go back to his time of when he was normal.

Off The wall was the most pure of this time.

Thriller was a few year after, but still burned into his memory.

Everything after is trying to draw off that memory but the farther you get away, the worse every album & song gets.

But wow Human Nature is that song that wasnt over exposed, and true amazing gem. a Era before MJ was a joke and was a driven amazing focus artist. cool

Oh fer fucks sake. This whole time I thought he was saying "baby brown" istead of "play around" which obviously makes more sense sad

I always thought he was saying.."Go little girl...". Having said that I do agree with your analogy of both Thriller and OTW. Infact, I've always felt that Human Nature was about a love affair with a city, probably New york. It was an ambigious song. I do believe OTW especially was probably about being young, free and partying, which he did a lot in the late 70s.
