I`m an old soul lol

Speaking of Sylvester, have you heard his "Living proof" album? I`ve only heard "You are my friend", which was just breathtaking,
especially Martha Wash`s wailing...

No, I haven't heard it. I actually don't know that much of his music except for the popular songs. But one day I heard a awesome uptempo record by him. I can't remember the name but I might know it if I heard it. I'll try to look it up.

If you find out the title, let me know.

I've got Living Proof on cd, and You Are My Friend is by far the track I've played most. There are more slower tempo soul based performances than one would expect from someone considered a disco act, but it's all great. Sylvester's spirit really comes through well throughout.

I also had his Mutual Attraction (which featured Someone Like You) on cassette back in the day. That's another big favorite of mine.

What suprised me on "You are my friend" was how good his voice was, he was a great vocalist....
Are there any other songs the album where Martha Wash belts?

You Are My Friend is the main track where Martha and Izora are heavily featured outside of their background parts, but they definitely have a presence on just about every track, from what I remember. It's been a couple months since I last listened to it.

Sylvester was great. He had great disco jams and like several of you have mentioned, he could also tear up some great slow jams. His version of "You Are My Friend" is far superior to Patti LaBelle's. Also, the backup singers, Martha and Izora, were excellent accents to his voice. The chemistry was perfect. Hell, those girls are great on their own also.
Andy is a four letter word.

I see some of his albums are available on cd. You can find them at a reasonable price at amazon uk.
