Aretha Franklin - "Master of eyes (the deepness of your eyes)"

Does anyone else here know this psychedelic-flavored Aretha Franklin song?
It was released as a single in 1973, and included on the "Hey now hey" cd.

I think it`s one of her best songs...

Nope. But man, the bar I was in last night played Aretha the entire evening and I became a fan all over again.

I love looove love that song. That was one of the most haunting melody to be stuck in somebody's mind. That was Aretha's most prolific moment. Sadly, the critics/public didn't give her a chance, they wanted her to do the same routine she has always been known for.

I love the breakdown when she goes deep everytime the chorus starts the deea-eea-eeeepness of your eeeyyesss.

But Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin and Aretha surely teamed up as a triple threat for this album.

She made a very heartfelt rendition of Dinah Washington's "Someday" in the same album.

It was a very different kind of song, but it worked nod And like you said, the vocals are really good, especially the belting. In terms of the vocal style, it reminds me of her cover of Bacharach`s "Don`t go breaking my heart", she didn`t hold anything back there...

You mean the West side story song "Somewhere"? That`s the highpoint of the album, along with "Angel".
