This is someone's idea of a believable collaboration/song title?

Maybe Halle CAN sing. Who knows? Just because she's an actress doesn't mean she can't sing. Look at all of these rappers turned actors. It's like they become rappers first just so they can get their foot in the door to get a shot at acting. Which is cool too. Look at Beyonce. What's the difference?

who knows...maybe she can sing...and i wouldnt say the days of tripe threats are gone...Catherine Zeta Jones, Queen Latifah, and the cast of Dreamgirls (expecially Jaime Foxx) and many others are showing that they can sing, dance and act.

I think whats changed is the hype game.

Maybe a select few can hold their own doing all three, but what they're doing is sub-par IMO. I'm just not interested in any of it. These days if I hear an actress or actor has an album out, I know I definitely will not be buying it, because it will end up sounding like some re-hashed album of someone else's that was already re-hashed most likely. lol

Even if she CAN sing, so what? I'll eat my words if she actually puts out something original and interesting, but judging from that list and who's involved in it, I don't think I'm all that interested. confused

But I agree with the person who made the Paris Hilton reference. I tend to think that most actors/actresses these days make albums because of the simple fact that they already have connections and they CAN. shrug Not because they've been singing or playing and writing music their whole lives and that had always been their dream. lol It's just another way to make money for them and is probably more of a hobby to them than a lifestyle.

I agree and I find it totally repulsive...not just on a celebrity basis, but also in the real world. People who brag about things like, "My Dad owns the company" or "My family is loaded"... mad So, basically, I'm supposed to admire these people because they happen to be the first one to reach the egg. That doesn't make them special, that just means they were good swimmers. Don't get me wrong, connections are okay to an extent, but when you have nothing to offer besides those connections, that's a problem and it's not fair to those individuals who do have talent and get over-looked. If they're just doing it to make a quick buck that's disgusting...just make a fragrance or fashion line like everyone else. rolleyes

i really think a lot of this has to do with hype though...there have always been actors who released albums (david cassady, leonard nemoy & william shatner for christsake, the original mouseketeers, allysa milano, david hasselhoff...shall i go on?)...

at anyrate, what's changed IMHO is that there isnt as much "public" critism of these artist...heck, when barbara streisand first came out critics said she couldnt sing...same goes for frank sinatra...the hype and money machine has killed articulate criticism.

I love Halle to death, so if this album endeavor is true, I wish her luck. But somethin' tells me she shouldn't go this route.

Maybe she layed down some tracks with her ex-hubbie Eric and he told her she could sing . . . .so she's followin' a dream, good for her!

Very good points, S.O.S. Let me add to your list, the ULTIMATE performer; Sammy Davis Jr. Basically, I think there's a little bit of jealously with some folks who see other people can do more than one thing. Or have the chance at doing more than one thing. I remember how pissed off at Michael Jordon the public was when he retired from basketball and then went to play baseball. They dogged him to death. Granted, he didn't play as well on that level, but if it's the man's dream, don't resent him for the chance to do it. If Paris wants to put out an album or act in a movie; so what? I'm not going to buy her shit anyway, but I'm certainly not going to knock her for doing it. Shit, I don't know Paris. Don't know what her dreams are. Maybe Halle always wanted to sing. Good for her. Go for it.

With Scott Storch and Timbaland doing a majority of the producing, She should have a hit song in there somewhere. (Key word "Should") I just hope they don't have her rapping like Fergie. UGGGGGHHHHH!!

Its funny that we have suddenly all drawn the line, but who was there to stop Don Johnson from cutting 5 albums and Bruce Willis 3, though entertaining, not good singers, and of course Scott Baio,Leif Garret etc... Also i know Paris Hilton is the scapegoat, but the only thing that album did was not sell much, but listening to it, she sounds just like Gwen, and the album is alot better than Gwens "Sweet Escape", which is what U will wish for when u listen to it.
