This says it all about record sales today... Taken from Billboard
"Incubus earns its first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 this week with the Epic set "Light Grenades," which moved 165,000 copies in the United States according to Nielsen SoundScan. The rock outfit's last set, 2004's "A Crow Left of the Murder," debuted at No. 2, though with a 332,000 start." Not saying anything Incubus (I'm neither here nor there with them) but take a look at those numbers....and it's the holiday season! What the hell!

Goddamn. There's no more joy in following anyone's career, anyways. It always goes down the toilet

Good! I'm always happy to see albums selling less and less. It'd be tragic if the garbage on the Top 40 sold really well. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Even good stuff isn't selling. No one bought Bob Dylan's latest.

Even good stuff isn't selling. No one bought Bob Dylan's latest. That aspect is unfortunate, but maybe this is the only way record labels will be motivated to make changes. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Eventually it will be more cost-effective to hire people who are dependable and make music instead of bargain-basement whores like Britney Spears who don't even show up for recording sessions.

Anybody believes downloads have something to do with poor sales?
If you can get it for free, why pay for it?

If you can get it for free, why pay for it? That's the first thought that came to my mind. I'm sure tons if Incubus fans had the whole album downloaded before it even hit stores. Why would they head over there to get it now? Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

If you can get it for free, why pay for it? No. Downloads were most prevalent around 2001-2002, and there was no problem then. Music really started to suck after 2002, though. I mean the number of new albums I've purchased in a year has dropped drastically since then.

When there's something worth buying people will buy it.
The entire world is not downloading, it's like saying there's not a block buster movie right now because downloading. Actually it's because the movies suck right now (Bond is good though) and so does music (how many more Christmas albums do we need?)

So people buy good records and download shit. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense There's always an excuse for steling music. First it was too expensive. Now it's shit. Well, if you don't like it, why download it?
