Kate had bad stage fright. I donno if she still does.

She's probably not even sure.

She was planning to take Never For Ever and The Dreaming on the road as her second tour... that would've been something to witness. sigh

What album(s) did she tour behind?

Bjork has expressed an interest in working with Kate. I think they'd be brilliant together.
She did a version of Kate's Moving (from The Kick Inside) and sent it to her. They've been friends ever since, so a duet could still happen yet.

Anyway... IMHO side 2 lets side 1 down BADLY on this album... The first side is utter brilliance, but I just can't seem to "feel" this 9th Wave thing... any help? smile

I get really nasty looks from people when it's on. For some strange reason they're very irritated by her voice lol

Strange Phenomena is vomit inducing unlike anything on HOL

They’re just not tuned in properly; tuned into the frequency of coolness…

The Kick Inside has some of the most unique vocals ever committed to record, at least in my top 50 (though I never made a list of my top 50 albums) and superior to HOL (imo ofcourse, lest anyone think I'm making a decree)

I’ll take Strange Phenomena over the melodramatic And Dream Of Sheep or the contrived Goth of Under the Ice. The Kick Inside is more ethereal to me and captures the Kate Bush aesthetic more because it relies on her unique vocals, rather than the lush sounds of HOL. The Kick Inside doesn’t have anything on it as good as Running Up That Hill or Cloudbusting, but on The Kick Inside she’s soo young and soo high-pitched. I love it, I love everything about that record, everything about David Gilmour finding her. How great do those songs sound on the Hammersmith concert!

Wow. Over 80 posts in less than 2 hours for an album that's 20-something years old on someone else's website. Now you know that's a classic.

In the 15th October edition of the London event guide Time Out, there is a report that one of their writers bumped into Kate at the premiere of "Maddie" at the Lyric Shaftesbury theatre, and that the conversation turned to Björk. It seems that Björk sent Kate a demo she had made of Kate's song Moving in 1989 and that they have since kept in touch. The article claims that "In fact they have been talking about the possibility of a duet".

Also, in the November issue of Q magazine, Björk has the following to say in relation to Kate:

"I remember being underneath my duvet at the age of twelve, fantasising about Kate Bush, but I don't want to make a big thing out of it. I would love it and hate it to be compared to Kate Bush, because I'd be very honoured to be compared to such a genius, but at the same time, It's important to me that I have my own individuality and my own voice"
