Bobby Womack Facts of Life

I've been spinning this 1973 gem for the last few days and I swear it get's better and better everytime I listen to it. Medley:Facts of Life/He'll Be There When The Sun Goes Down, Nobody Want's You When You're Down and Out, I'm Through Trying To Prove My Love To You, and Natural Man are all outstanding. Womack is so underappreciated its not even funny. His voice, spoken word intros, guitar work and production skills are sheer genius. Anyone else feeling this album?

"Once I lived a life of a millionaire, spending my money honey ohhh' I didn't care. Taken my friends out for a mighty goodtime. Drinking that good gin champagne and wine. Awwwww just as soon as my money got low, couldn't find my friends and I had no place to go. But if I eeeevvvah get my hands on a dollah' again. I believe I’ll on hold til' that eagle grin".

It is?. He talks thru 98% of it. I think he even talked himself out of that one.

The girl was probably thinking,"Bobby you had me at the intro...before you started with the dissertation. He should have just sung to the girl. The singing is sweet.

The contradictions in his line of reasoning get deeper and deeper too. It's pretty funny. I would like to have heard more "song". Sing more, talk less.

The whole CD is good. Nice version of "All Along The Watchtower."

Also listen to Bobby's version of "I Was Checkin'Out". He has nice guitars in it. And Bobby has those good screams like Wilson Pickett and James Brown.
