No darkness in She's The One, surely. Just passion, lust and doubt. It's a thematic precursor to much of Tunnel of Love.

Oh, and Meeting Across The River IS on Born To Run. He wrote it with another famous son of New Jersey in mind - Frank Sinatra.

I dunno...I find "She's the One" kinda "dark", too. shrug And I see that song and Tunnel as being worlds apart (if you'll excuse the pun). In terms of sophistication, there's no comparison, wouldn't you say?

That whole album is good, but the song itself has a haunting quality to it. That video is my favorite of his.

Bit of seredipity going on at the end of it, don't you think? Bruce singing about his marital troubles, and Patti walking down the tunnel towards him. Or did he write the script? wink

As in "Tunnel" is more sophisticated? Sure. I like She's The One, but it's about love/lust and the ensuing personal turmoil. He made those shadows more literal in Tunnel.

And when she sings she reminds me of that fingernail down blackboard scene in "Jaws".

I believe Bruce when he says that Patti's prominent role in '88 was due to the material focusing on "men and women". I think their relationship only developed once he realized his attraction to Julianne was mostly physical and that someone very compatible was just across the microphone.

I like her voice. And I think she's a talented songwriter, as well.

I said Katey Sagal, NOT Peg Bundy. lol

I dunno. They look similar to me. I think Katey's pretty and a good singer in her own right. She used to be a session singer. Anyway, I'm derailing this thread.

Yes, I see a general resemblance (that's a horrible picture of Patti, by the way).

lol Most of the pictures I found of her were either small or didn't show a good angle of her face.

Hmmm ... Apparently they started having a fling during tour rehearsals. And check out the video for Tougher Than The Rest. Looks like it was filmed between shags. lol

That was shot after Bruce & Julianne were separated and there was no point in hiding their feelings then.
