Just got through watching the AMEX performance.

Both performances were ok at best and I'm thinking she's suffering from the Mariah Carey syndrome because she couldn't hit any of the strong notes in Let's Wait A While. That was kinda painful to watch.

The Uma Thurman Pulp Fiction wig is growing on me.

I loved her dancing. So much heat, aggression, fire, attitude, funk--she plays her body like a funky bass. Awesome. Best performance of this era and much better than any of the numbers she performed while promoting Damita Jo...

But the REAL treat were the two performances on AmEx website. Nasty with a live band sounds better than EVER...love the "no my first name ain' shorty" (was that a Jermaine diss?)...and "Lets Wait Awhile" was stunning, beautiful vocals. It was so good to hear that full song with the bridge and not crammed into a melody. I hope she performs the Control songs all in full this time around on tour. Can't wait to see the real show! Janet is FIYAH. A flop album for Janet always makes her singe 100x better onstage.

I honestly did enjoy the subduded heartfelt vocals of "Lets Wait Awhile." I'm not a stickler for technique, I like passion and yes she sounded good to ME.


Did anyone watch the interview on the AmEx website? WORST JANET INTERVIEW EVER! Not her fault...that dumb bitch conducting it looked like she was winging every question, had no follow ups, and hadn't done ANY homework. Poor Janet did her best. That woman was an idiot! The final expression they capture on Jan's face was priceless!

The song selection from last night has me thinking about the tour setlist now...two FULL songs from Control and a verse/chorus of another and a snipit of the title track...does this mean this tour will be VERY control heavy and unlike her last ones will actually include FULL versions of all the control singles. I think she should pair each Control hit with a new track from 20 Y.0. That would be hot. In fact, there are many songs she could sing either before or right after another track from 20 YO that would put the new album in better context for the live show:

Thoroughly disappointing. What the hell happened to Janet's classic performances? I thought the version of "So Excited" was absolutely terrible with that horrible rap overshadowing ANYTHING she was singing, the choreography wasn't nearly as tight as it is in the video, and I think she should've been wearing something else. And what was up with having "S.E.X." emblazoned across the giant screen? Not sexy at all.

I was anticipating something a lot more from Janet. It seems like everytime she's been on television the last couple of years, I'm always thinking she's going to bring us back to what she can REALLY do, and it's been a letdown.
