The BobSteezy nominees for Best (overtly) POP songs of 2006 are: "When It Was Me" - Paula DeAnda, "Put Your Records On" - Corrine Bailey Rae, "I Call it Love" - Lionel Richie, "Surrender" - Kaskade, and "So What" - Field Mob featuring Ciara.

...And the winner is...

Put Your Records On - Corrine Bailey Rae.

ps - let's do this for every genre!
We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams.

If by "pop" you mean POPular songs I'll name two songs that have stuck with me for the whole year, although I'm a bit tired of hearing them on the radio..... Gnarls Barkley's Crazy is THE anthem of 2006, no doubt about it.... And the other pick is a local favorite, by Icelandic band Jeff Who... this song was the summer anthem here in Iceland and is still played on radio... one of the very few Icelandic songs to be played on almost every radio station, a true crossover smash..... and of course, when you're drunk at a bar or club, that sing-along bit in the second half of the song is just CLASSIC: "Barfly"
