RS 'Miss Amanda Jones'

Not a really talked about or popular song from the stones most eclectic period of recordings('66-'67) but has anyone who is familiar with this song ever really noticed how heavy sounding the guitar riff that plays throughout the song by Keith Richards is? Its seriously hard and seems almost heavy metalish before the term came into pop culture in the early '70s.

The song was orginally off one of their more less known and probably most unique and curious albums called 'Between the Buttons' and it was also featured in the eighties John Hughes film 'Some Kind Of Wonderful'(not sure how many people have seen this film).

Everytime I hear this song, I think of that film, one of the last John Hughes "teendom" movies. Plus, I had a serious crush on Mary Stuart Masterson razz

Great tune, great album.

That is an underappreciated record with other good tunes like the hits Let's Spend The Night Together & Ruby Tuesday (colored beautifully by BJ's piano/recorder and supposedly uncredited as a writer), the other rocker Connection and the humorous Something Happened To Me Yesterday (with Brian also on trumpet/trombone and is probably the first instance of Keef's solo voice during the bridges).

Some of my favorite Stones records are during the end of the Brian Jones era - Aftermath, BTB, TSMR, Beggars Banquet & Let It Bleed (where he's more there in spirit)

Between The Buttons and Satanic Majesties are hugely underrated, undervalued, underappreciated albums.

I think Jagger said that Between The Buttons is his his least favourite Stones album. This must have been before he made Bridges to Babylon.
