Other than the singles, Confessions really just didn't do that much for me until I saw the concert last week. American Life I loved right away.

American Life I loved right away. i'll admit american life grew on me, but i remember initially laughing out loud when i heard it. and not in a laughing-with-her kinda way. the idea that madonna really thinks anyone worries about if they're gonna be a star in this day and age...or, worse yet, that she believed people would care about her celebrity crybaby lyrics. :shudder: confessions manages to get a message out there but it nevers overtakes the record. and damita jo...well, that's just one of my favorite janet records. next to velvet rope, i probably listen to it the most. same with confessions, next to erotica i think that one gets the most play from me.

Outside of tracks 2,3,4, and 5, there isn't a song on there I would care if I ever heard again. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Both COADF and AL got their status because of a tour.

I think her yoddle is kinda sexy, i wonder if she does it in bed with her gay husband The bitch is at #7. I am sure she will be #1 soon enough.

but reinvention was a hot tour and it didn't help the status of american life (has it even sold 1 million yet?). confessions was already a successful record well before the tour started. i don't think the tour helped with the records...people will go to watch madonna whether her record is a hit or not. she's just a brilliant live performer.

I think he was talking artistic merit. I agree...Madonna is one of those people that can put out whatever Bullshit on wax she wants but will consistently fill arenas and stadiums around the globe. Dare I say it -- I think her main talent in the 00s has been putting together a stage show, and not necessarily records. In concert she does kick ass...shit I hope she tours again in 2008 as has been rumoured. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

It's rumored she's planning a celebration tour for 2008 as it will be her 25 years in the business.

I hope she gets RRHOF immediately. That would be a great tie-in with the tour.

I hope she gets RRHOF immediately. That would be a great tie-in with the tour. It'll be a HUGE embarassment if she doesn't. By the way wouldn't next year be her official 25 years? Everybody hit the clubs in 1982. Oh well. Either way I hope she hits the road when she can still say she is FORTY NINE. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Not really an embarrassment. The RRHOF is an embarrassment in itself for who they haven't admitted. But it would be a nice feather in her feather duster.

I hope she gets RRHOF immediately. That would be a great tie-in with the tour. I don't think she will get in immediately for some reason. People still view her as the reason of the current shitty state of the industry so if she will be inducted it will seem rather forced as opposed to her earning it.

I think she's a must too but the industry types are very fickle when it comes to Madonna. The Grammy's last year being proof. Madonna's performance got a luckwarm reaction wheras Mariah's was given a huge response and a standing ovation. Not saying Madonna deserves a standing ovation but they will always view a female singer with a technically fine voice like Mariah or Whitney to be more above Madonna.

Madge will get in on the first try simply because she has the numbers to back it up More top tens than any other artist but Elvis #3 on the #1's for women highest selling tour for a woman more dance #1's than twice her competition they can't fight that or deny that You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

If she does get inducted and goes to the ceremony, what should she perform? She would probably choose a new song from a released or upcoming album, or maybe not even perform at all.

she'd do a new song or not perform. though maybe she'd do something like Live 8 where she did some performances from the tour because there wasn't any new material yet You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

And that makes sense as an adaptation inside today's music industry.
