What Beatles Anthology? Didn't that chit come out in `95? I assuming you mean in 1983.

I had two albums (the 'Grease' soundtrack and the Jacksons' 'Destiny') and a few 7" singles before 1983, but that was when I really started buying my own records. I was in eighth grade I think. It all started with 'Thriller'.

I started buying records in 1978. "Grease" was my first album also and "Hot Number" by Foxy was my first 45.

I can remember my first four albums which were all double albums:

1. Grease
2. Saturday Night Fever
3. Live and More - Donna Summer
4. Bad Girls - Donna Summer

When I bought my fifth album, "Hot Box" by Fatback, I felt disappointed because it was only one record. lol

I played the hell out of that Grease soundtrack. My first 7" was "Hot Line" by The Sylvers. Some of the other early singles I had were Rose Royce's "Car Wash", The Jacksons' "Enjoy Yourself", "Muskrat Love" by the Captain & Tenille boxed etc., but I didn't buy any of those--my parents got them all for me. Like I said before, I didn't start buying records with my own money until a few years later.

I'm not sure. I don't have all her albums. At one point I did, but I realized I preferred listening to the singles mostly and sold the albums I liked the least. I kept the first album, Like A Prayer, Erotica, Ray Of Light, Music, Something To Remember, American Life and Confessions. Everything else is gone. I really can't resist a Madonna 12" however. I love listening to her extended versions and remixes. I finally got the "Jump" double 12" this week.

I realized True Blue is plays like a singles collection, and the weaker material ("Jimmy Jimmy") I could easily sluff off like a uteral lining. shrug

I remember some of my early 45s too:

Hot Number - Foxy
Chase Me - Con-Funk-Shun
Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind, and Fire
I Wanna Be Your Lover - Prince
Shake Your Groove Thing - Peaches and Herb
Shake Your Body Down To The Ground - The Jacksons
In The Navy - The Village People

Wrong-o. How can you say this then make a thread for "Let It Will Be" when the Papa Don't Preach strings are from True Blue?

And Like a Virgin is a damn template for Madonna's pop flavor.

Both albums have some of the 80s biggest songs.

Like, wha?

Seriously that makes me want to get rid of everything post-Bedtime Stories.

I would choose the 'Like A Virgin' LP over 'True Blue', but I liked the singles from 'True Blue' more.

I didn't like that album either. To me Madonna and R&B don't mix. disbelief

Back in '78 I LOVED that song--so much that I asked for the entire 'Destiny' album instead of the single. The best version though is on the European 12". It sounds more club-friendly.
