There's a really good Anthology out called 'Glory Be, The Funk's On Me' which is 2 CD's and gives a really good overview. Has classics on it such as 'I'd Rather Be With U' and 'Munchies For Your Love'. Munchies is fantastic. Has to be heard to be believed.

His last two 'proper' albums (not counting his current X-Mas effort) are more modern approaches to the Funk with dance and Hip-Hop fusions, but are still very good and worth a listen. These are entitled 'Play With Bootsy' and 'Straight Outta P-University' and are widely available. That should get you started.

I hope that helps.

Birdie is one of the most impressing song I ever heard. The bass in it is....great! Is it Bootsy Collins? If it is, respect to the man! razz

That's Rodney 'Skeet' Curtis

This one has just been reissue on cd format biggrin

Has it? I love that title track. Detroit used to have a public station that was associated with the public schools and they would play old school stuff like this. That song is killer! Haven't heard it in a while so I just listened to the very generous sample from that site...That is some nice shit! I don't care if it's expensive, I'll get it!
