George Michael - Earls Court Arena I went to see him last night here in London... I've been waiting since I was a little girl and let me tell you it was worth the wait!! he is UNBELIEVABLE live!! his voice is just pristine and he just a fantastic showman... his band were kinda (most of the time) in the sides and to the back so he was holding the stage on his own and he did it with style...
I've not heard such an ovation when he came on stage in a VERY long time... it was fantastic to see him so happy and laughing and having a great time!! and the setlist was fantastic - I don't remember it however will post it when I find it One of the best concerts I've ever been to

Mrs Shifter and I are going tonight - and on the 17th at Wembley Arena, which, I think, is the tour finale - unless he adds another date. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Wembley Arena: December 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 17th. You may still just be able to get tickets for the 17th. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Tickets were sold out in no time in my country.
I've seen some footage and damn, never expected it would be THAT good! The show and stage look great,a lot of video screens I think? His backing band seems 2 include some of the unplugged band, I really hope I ever get the chance 2 see him live. Love4oneanother

I've not heard such an ovation when he came on stage in a VERY long time... it was fantastic to see him so happy and laughing and having a great time!! and the setlist was fantastic - I don't remember it however will post it when I find it One of the best concerts I've ever been to Back from Earls Court. Absolutely fucking amazing. It was a stunning show, absolutely flawless. The setlist was exactly the same as the night you went to. Highlights for me were Fastlove (people had said that he'd rushed it earlier in the tour, but it was great tonight), the very moving speech he made about his uncle, Jesus To A Child (still a perfect hertbreaker), and Shoot The Dog, with the inflatable Dubya getting mawled/blown by a bulldog. George couldn't even start his final encore for the ovation he got at the end - he even got down on his knees "I Am Not Worthy" fashion to acknowledge his audience. I hope he doesn't leave it another fourteen years before coming back to the live stage. In between, Mrs Shifter and I are going back to see him again at Wembley on December 17th. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I've only seen George live three times, and that was as easily the best - beating even the final Wham gig. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. I saw George Michael in '88 when I signed up for a package tour that included Prince's first Lovesexy date in Minneapolis. I wasn't a GM fan, and I'm really still not one, but he totally won my respect the night I saw him. I'd definitely rank it as one of the best gigs I've ever seen - better than the Prince show I saw the next night by most standards, truth be told. [Edited 11/30/06 3:30am]

Cuz I have a hard time imagining anything topping a Lovesexy show.

Cuz I have a hard time imagining anything topping a Lovesexy show. I'd definitely say it was an off night. It was the first night of the US leg, so perhaps the show had accumulated a little off-time rust. The first set in particular was very flat. The 2nd set was better, and the run through the PR hits was dependably exciting, but overall I considered the show a let-down. I wasn't alone either - the mood on the bus after the gig was one of considerable disappointment. It happens - no one can hit a home-run every time up at the plate, I guess. I'd be interested to hear Endo's take on the show - he was at the same night, I believe. [Edited 11/30/06 3:48am]

It was - but it was also more of an event than a gig. It was also one of the most good natured, pleasant gigs I'd been to up to that point. Stadium gigs were marred by such savoury goings on as people lobbing bottles of piss into the audience. I saw none of that there. Oh, and the women were stunning. [Edited 11/30/06 3:30am] Must have been off-night, because I saw them both in '88 and Prince was easily better than George, despite only playing snippets of his hits for large portions of the show. That said, George was really fucking good too, but Prince brought that little extra to his show. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. George Michael is cool , I don´t understand why people are being so harsh to him, his private life is nobody´s business.
One question : What did he look like ? I haven´t seen him in a long time, the last pic I´ve seen was the one behind his steering wheel and I seriously couldn´t recognize him, he looked so different ( you know, that pic where he looks really old). " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I still think he's gorgeous though, I love his eyes. the photo/s (there were more than one of them, again unfortunately ) were horrible he looks scared and intimidated they make me sad every time I see them they're the eyes of someone who has been through a fucking LOT in his life but to his credit through it all he's still not only standing but thriving GO GEORGE!!!
