Methinks it's no coincidence that both of Madonna's tours that AREN'T commercially available are the two that were featured in documentaries...BA and RIT as full shows will NEVER see the light of day on DVD IMO. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Blond Ambition isn't out on DVD because the rights are still licensed to Sony (?) for the Laser Disc version from the early 90's. The reason RIT didn't come out was because it was in the contract for IGTTYAS that she wouldn't release a concert DVD until X months after the release date of the documentary. I believe that period has passed, but that's why it didn't happen sooner than now. "The world of the heterosexual is a sick and boring life. " -- Edith Massey in Female Trouble

Studio versions and demos of Ray of Light, I Love New York, Music Inferno, Erotica (You Thrill Me), Everybody (before it was replaced with La Isla Bonita), Luck Star, Hung Up, Drowned World/Nothing Fails. They are all waaaaay better than I expected. Anyone else hear them yet? yes and they are fantastic. While her voice isn't in top form , its great to get an insight into her rehearsal process. Its quite funny when she says during ILNY "Is something out of tune....it could be me...". She clearly recognises shes having a bad vocal day. To have the segment from Music Inferno to Hung up is magical. Makes me realise Stuart Price is the only man who should put together some kind of retrospective remix album for her....that would be brilliant. Anyone heard the ReInvention Rehearsal demos. The full show has leaked and some of them are brilliant. Unlike the confessions tour demos her voice is in fantastic shape and she's being quite playful through alot of the numbers, particularly "Crazy For You".

Oh yes, and fortunately it was the Channel Four version, not the NBC version. I still cant get over the fact that they edited out the heart on her guitar strap - I mean WTF?!?!. I still cant think of a segment of her previous shows that is better than the final Disco segment - Madonna at her best. Maybe the Religious section from the Blond Ambition tour comes close but i love the flow of the disco segment. I feel that this finale made up for the lack of excitement in some of the previous segments. I still feel some of the songs were wrong to be included (Like It Or Not, Isaac, Paradise) - Id rather have seen some older songs in there, but its her show and she can do what she likes with it. I just hope they dont mess up with the DVD. They have an opportunity to put loads of extras on there, and I hope they dont disappoint.

The heart on her guitar strap was edited out because the phrase "I Love New York" is copyrighted.Yeah,I know it's silly, huh? As for extras on the DVD,I hope they include the four videos from COADF and maybe some footage from Coachella...the performance of "Everybody" would be a nice bonus, since it didn't make it onto the tour setlist.

Good.
I saw most of it on UK TV including the so-called 'controversial' cross scene on 'Live To Tell'. I didn't find it remotely offensive. What I did find offensive was when Madonna picked up that black guitar and tried to play it. It was very unconvincing and spoiled the momentum of the show. But I thought the dance and pop songs were first-rate. The dancers amazing. It reminded me more of a 'west-end' or Broadway show than a concert but I loved it.

Today I'm on a Madonna hater mode...so let's say the usual predictable stuff:
Madonna has not talent! That guitar is pathetic! Elton John was right! Madonna is a whore and she's adopting african kids! (...) Damm, it's so tiring being a hater! [Edited 12/4/06 1:42am]
