Yea, it should've been a one disc album. Matter of fact, it COULD'VE been....both cds are a total of 78 mins. That's why it's not counting for double sales, it doesn't meet the length requirement. Instead of all the filler songs on there, they could've just added the strongest material & called it a day...the album would've been much more solid. Either way, it's nowhere near as good as "Stripped" was for sure, IMHO. The way the album was intially described, I was expecting her to go ALL THE WAY with the 20s, 30s, 40s jazz project...she did w/ her image of course...but not so much musically like I was hoping. It's too bad because she sounds good singing that type of stuff, just check out her performance with Tony Bennett on "Steppin' Out" from SNL a few wks ago.

I like this album way better than her previous ones. Yes it is a sprawling mess, but I enjoy it much more than Stripped (also a sprawling mess).

This is the first Christina album I cared to own. I loved "Beautiful" from Stripped at one point though.

her performance with tony on SNL wow

I want her 2 do that all the time

she misuses it with all this vocal stuff, simplicity is best i think

like tony or rosemary, frank, etc

I don't know why I still haven't picked it up. I love "Stripped." I hate her debut. I enjoyed her Spanish record.

"Back to Basics" is along with these following titles albums I have debated getting from the start for guilty pleasure sake but haven't brought myself to get yet:

Nelly Furtado -- Loose
Monica -- The Makings of Me
Beyonce -- B'day
NeYo -- Title?
Fergie -- Title?
Beck -- The Information
Pharrell -- In My Mind
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

While we're on the subject I want her to release Without You and Save Me From Myself as singles. Regardless of if they would do well, I think those songs showcase a side of Christina that the general public need to hear.

Just don't buy In My Mind!
Ne Yo's In My Own Words is lovely though.

I thought the term falsetto applies to men only.

I'm obsessed with "WITHOUT YOU."
The piano sounds amazing on this song.
I love the record, but DJ Premier is getting on my nerves throughout the 1st CD.
