eek ok now I'm extra jealous - you've seen him 3 times including the FINAL WHAM GIG? ooooohmygod pout that would have been amazing to be at!!!

It was - but it was also more of an event than a gig. It was also one of the most good natured, pleasant gigs I'd been to up to that point. Stadium gigs were marred by such savoury goings on as people lobbing bottles of piss into the audience. I saw none of that there. Oh, and the women were stunning.

eek

?

Which concert was that ? Never heard of that before ...

I really DON'T know why I didn't try to get tickets for one of his Dutch concerts... neutral

I've only read glowing reports about this tour. Been playing his albums a lot lately and have nothing but the utmost respect for the guy. One of the best singers of his generation and a great songwriter as well. thumbs up!

George Michael is cool , I don´t understand why people are being so harsh to him, his private life is nobody´s business.

One question : What did he look like ? I haven´t seen him in a long time, the last pic I´ve seen was the one behind his steering wheel and I seriously couldn´t recognize him, he looked so different ( you know, that pic where he looks really old).

He looked great - slim, fit and exuberant.

The reason people - i.e: the gutter press - are giving him such a hard time is that he makes for good copy, and good copy sells papers. Unfortunately, George's escapades make for good reading. As do pictures of him looking frazzled.

He got a lot of flak for Shoot The Dog - including stick from that genius writer of incisive lyrics, Noel Gallagher (I AM joking) - but, had people bothered to read the lyrics they would have read the words to one of the most surreal - and funny - protest songs written this side of Dylan.

This happened when I saw The Who at Wmbley in 1980, The Rolling Stones at Wembley in 1982, Bruce Springsteen in 1985 and 1988, The Rolling Stones again at Wembley in 1990. It happened at all of the Donnington metal festivals a friend of mine went to. It's pretty much died out now, thanks to better facilities, BUT, when I went to New Order in Finsbury Park a few years ago I saw a guy pissing down his friend's leg - "for a joke".

They're all good aren't they? I think Patience was a few slow songs too long, and Songs From The Last Century is the least essential one. Older's still my favourite, and I think it may be his too. He played four songs from it yesterday.

Glad you enjoyed it. Mrs Shifter and I are going tonight - and on the 17th at Wembley Arena, which, I think, is the tour finale - unless he adds another date.

omg you're gonna have a fantastic time... I wish I had the money to go to more shows sad

here's the setlist...

Waiting (reprise)
Flawless
Fast Love
Father Figure
Everything She Wants
The First Time Ever
Praying For Time
Too Funky
This is Not Real Love (with Mutya)
Star People
My Mother Had A Brother
Shoot The Dog

Interval - John & Elvis Video

Faith
Spinning The Wheel
Jesus To A Child
Amazing
I'm Your Man
Outside
Careless Whisper
Freedom 90

Ah, he did an Easier Affair too. Much better live. He did a bump n grind with one of his (very beautiful) backing vocalists when he sang the "Dancing with the freaks now" chorus. She looked a bit shocked.
