Diana Ross` "Mahogany" This movie was to be released on dvd at the same time as "Lady sings the blues", but it`s still only available on vhs.
Does anyone know what happened? Personally, i think it`s a great movie, and i would love to replace my bootleg copy with a remastered dvd.

Great movie. The epitome of the early to mid 70's. The theme song is beautiful. The best vocals Diana ever performed in her life! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

I love this movie too. Myfave scene is when Anthony Perkins is driving all crazy and Diana is in the passenger seat, and he's making her pose for photographs. I know its not supposed to be funny, but her expressions kill me everytime I see it. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Anthony Perkins is so creepy in it. That's why they casted him for the role. He was perfect. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Anthony Perkins is so creepy in it. Yeah, but then again i always think of Norman Bates when i see him Diana Ross looked AMAZING in the movie, which i guess was the purpose with the whole thing...

This movie was TERRIBLEEEEE lmao! Seriously, it was a complete vanity project for her, with Berry Gordy producing no less. Absoutely atrocious script, the "fashions" are terrible. The Glitter of the 1970's and it completely destroyed her film career!

Love this movie! Love it, love it, love it! It had everything! Billy Dee fine as hell. Diana in a role that was absolutely perfect for her...not to mention her clothes and her hair! Anthony Perkins creepy persona given a comedic flair. This is easily one of my all time favorite movies.
I don't know that happened to the DVD but as soon as one is available it'll be in my collection.

Yeah this movie wasn't a huge success, but I've always liked it.The theme song "Do You Know Where You're Going To" is one of Diana's best songs.

Even though it bombed back then, it still gloryfied as a cult figure
I know I'll be slammed for this,,,but I have never seen this movie Considering how they fucked up Billie Holiday's life story in the movie, I wasn't sorry for letting Mahogany slip right pass by me(though for their credit, the latter ain't a biopic).
