Michael Jackson to attend Tokyo Christmas Bash

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/h...179550.stm

Michael Jackson is to star at a lavish Christmas party in Tokyo next month - but he will not be singing.
Some 1,600 fans will pay up to 400,000 yen (£1,787) each to enjoy dancers, bands and gospel singers at the event, to be held on 19 December.

However, Jackson's role is to simply sit down to dinner with guests while listening to his recorded music.

Holders of the most expensive tickets will get to sit with Jackson and have a group picture taken with him.

Revellers with 200,000 yen (£895) "gold" tickets will receive an autographed portrait.

The singer will be hoping to making a better impression on his fans after being booed offstage during his last public appearance at the World Music Awards in London earlier this month.

He sang only a few lines of his hit We Are The World.

Jackson said there had been a "misunderstanding" after fans said they had been told he would sing his hit Thriller at the bash.

He was also booed before the event when he failed to stop and meet the hundreds of supporters who had waited for hours to see him on the red carpet.

Jackson last visited Tokyo in May this year when he picked up the MTV Japan legend award.

Well, whoever pays to see him will be doing it of their own will. No one is forcing anyone to pay or go see him; therefore, I don't see what the fuss is about. If you don't want to go then just STFU, and that is as nicely as I can put it.

I don't get it either.

This is NOT fan sit-down meal shit. This is (apparently) for wealthy/business people.

WTF do we even have or need a media when they are too stupid and lazy to find out the facts? There is video EVERYWHERE that confirms that Michael was NOT booed off the stage; yet, these morons continue to print the same lies. Is it because they know that people are so weak-minded and gullible that the media can tell them anything, and they won't care. I truly fear for today's youth because they are bombarded with the lies and manipulations of the media. If they don't have teachers or parents who will tell them the truth, this society is going to be messed up even more than it is right now. I am 'old school' and believe in the facts and truth being presented. At least, that's the way that I grew up and taught my children to respect the truth. In today's world, facts and truth are pretty much non-existent when it comes to the media. The media is "dumbed-down" to repeat and reprint what tabloids spew. There is no more journalistic integrity when "respected" newspapers print the same BS as the tabloids without an ounce of investigation or research to see if what they are reprinting is factual. It's all about who can put out the story the fastest. It is sad.
