"Loose" is listed as an album under the Mosley Music/Geffen label. For some reason, NHI was briefly touted on US iTunes as being produced by "The Neptunes" (???) so that may've conflicted with it getting promo'd out here. When "Maneater" was making tons of noise in the UK and "Promiscuous" was still climbing the charts in the U.S., NHI was on the backburner, so they just turned most of their attention on Promiscuous since it kept growing and it was clear it was a massive hit here. I wouldn't place the blame on Nelly, the artist, for not going with the NHI single universally. When it comes down to it, singles/videos are highly-scrutinized/politicized record company offerings. They have the ultimate say in what singles their label wants to distribute, since they're the ones shelling out the major money.

This album still bangs as hard now as it did when I first copped it. No Hay Igual is my ass-shaker of choice, though.

No Hay Igual was never produced by The Neptunes and neither did it feature Pharrell...I remember it first being released and people figured Pharrell would be somewhere in it since the song clearly soounds like a Neptune production.

Rumor has it "Showtime" is the Fourth U.S. single.

Ok, the end of the year is coming soon and, I'll be real with it, Nelly Furtado's "Loose" was simply one of the best dance pop albums of this year. That album killed and RE-KILLED. My question to the org is this: Given the quality of the album and the time we've now had to digest each of its tunes, which would you say is the out-and-out jam of "Loose"? Which track made you nod your head, dance you face off, sing along, etc. and WHY? Personally, I have to say "Do It" because I was rocking that song ever since I took the wrapping off of the CD. The synths and the way it grooves is just crazy. BUT, when I listen to the whole CD, I must say, I'm kinda torn now because I'm starting to really get into "Wait For You." The way that shit grooves, it's just like WHOAAA. And I love the change-up. "Showtime," just came up on my player and that's jamming, too. Wow. This is a hard question! No, it's not a hard question at all! IMO, Maneater is THE best dance song of 2006. THIS song just jams hard and is basically straight to the point! If I was the DJ at any club or party, THIS song would get play first in my set. BTW, I hope Do It would get release as a single soon.

I definitely feel you on playing this in a DJ set. This song (and a lot of tracks on this record) were made with the DJ in mind. The production on "Maneater" was FIRE. You get three dance workouts in one! I love the switch-up around minute 2:54. For my dancers, now that breakdown is the illest part of the song. I love how the song fades out at the end with just a sparse keyboard groove and then it starts glowing at the end. It gets me high. And the DRUMS throughout the entire cut were bananas. Now, Maneater/Promiscuous on the album is just a back-to-back knockout. I wish they would've shaved off the interludes during that part so the two tracks could just groove continuously.

I've seen that "Say It Right" is being pushed now. How many singles is this so far? Will "Showtime" be the single after that?

This is one of those times I wish I had TiVo, because goodness knows award shows have gotten so bad I lose my attention span during the red carpet pre-show. Her AMA performance was fantastic. She really made a wonderful album! From beginning to end just great, fun dance music! SAY IT RIGHT is such a great tune...as is MANEATER....NO HAY...and that beautiful ballad COME TO AN END...so good! peace Every minute of last night is on my face today....

Yep. Say It Right is currently a Top 10 Hot 100 hit. It's nice to see it doing so well. It's the third single in the US. Promiscuous was first, No Hay Igual was a promo, Maneater was the official second single (but it's interesting how Maneater still hasn't taken off as much as it did in the UK, Geffen moved straight to SIR, but I guess it's paying off since it's hitting). Good news! It has been confirmed by Geffen and various music sites that "Showtime" is indeed the Fourth U.S. Single. Can't wait to see what she does with the video.
