Madonna Guitarist!

Saw her on NBC.

She was amazing. Such range. Such technique. Such speed.

I think I counted a maximum of three chords. It was unbelievable.

Prince, look out!

( Ahh, I'm not a fan but I give her credit for trying something new.)

I would always rather see something simple done well than some1 try 2 mount something that is obviously far beyond their abilities and do it badly.
Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

I like the guitar performances, the "rock segment" of the show. No,she is no Eric Clapton lol but it was a good performance with alot of attitude.

That is something that I think about a lot. Here's a good example...Prince's movie ideas. Purple Rain was the bomb. Graffitti Bridge was a bomb. Did he exceed his abilities?

I agree that something simple done well is good and worthy of admiration.

But sometimes, just sometimes, I like those who fly too close to the sun.

As a fan since '83, I've always wanted to see her play. And now I can.

What she lacks in technical ability, she makes up for by giving me my wish. I totally get off on it.

Here is what gets me about Madonna. For the longest time I just could *not* stand her.

But she brings it. She is undeniably a warrior. Not a great singer, dancer, or musician.

But girlfriend KNOWS how to put on a show. She's the greatest performance artist of her generation.

There are plenty of people who are more talented than Madonna. She's not the greatest singer or dancer, and I can name other female artists who are even prettier than she is.But that's part of her charm, imo.Against all odds, she worked hard and proved herself. She forced people to notice her and to take her seriously.I admire that.Like you say,she is a warrior. She matters.

Maybe I'm delusional then cuz I like how she sounds, moves and looks better than any other performer in pop or r+b.

I'm not gonna claim that she's better, but I like her more than her competition.

The only females that can compete with her for me are more alternative like Bjork, Tori Amos and PJ Harvey.

woot!

pout I didn't get to see the TV show, but soon we should have the entire, uncensored, unedited show on DVD!! dancing jig

Oh yeah, her guitar playing is fun to watch...she won't be joining the pantheon of guitar gods anytime soon, but WTH at least she's doing it! lol

Remember Prince's most recent SNL performance, where at the end of Fury he held his right arm up and continued playing notes with just his left hand? I saw Madonna do the same thing in Tokyo, though she prolly only played about 10% as many notes! razz I was totally LOL and wondered if the move was at all Prince-inspired!

coolcat

She sings great pop songs (I don't know how much she wrote herself). But there's a reason she got all those number one hits.
