"Yesterday" by Mary Mary = SOUL.

Hi.

Just heard this on the radio again...

Now THAT is singing.

What a beautiful song.

A nice breath of fresh air, while we usually have 2 endure the sorry state of current R&B male and female singers...

mmmm... Pure Soul.

It's a mess though LIVE when Tina (the redhead) come in squalling...ruining the mood of the song.
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

Oh DAG. I don't know about them live...

But the recorded version does move me... in ways that I like, which R rare these days.

You don't even know its a gospel record until later on in the song....sounds like any other R&B/soul record talking about a faulty relationship. It's the same with alot of contemporary gospel, it sounds like alot of stuff out there now...only difference is lyrical content & better talent.

So true.

... and the arrangement of the song is, actually, perfect.

(scorpion, huh?)

This song has reached it's maximum potential of being played out on the radio even though I love the song. The radio edit doesn't do the album version justice because it's stripped down to just a piano and the girls...

Not the version played here. It's full instrumentation.
