When I saw the title "Freddy Mecury ON Prince" I thought I was going to see some disturbing pictures.

I was actually about to create a thread discussing Prince and Freddy. Wouldn't it have been an incredibly interesting collaboration? smile

I read in one of the books about Freddy that on one occassion he had a few friends over and Freddy was playing the Purple Rain Tour video to them and he would constantly rewind certain parts and make sure everyone saw them and constanly remark on how good Prince was.

Prolly "tell me darling, does your man ..have an ass...like mine? *wiggle*"

And Freddie would reply "Heck yes he does darling!"

Prince did have an early leotard type of thing that looked like a Freddie outfit. So Freddie would probably would ask for it back.

Queen loved American R and B. The influence showed on "Hot Space" and earlier on "Another One Bites The Dust"

But MJ wouldn't have Freddie hooking up with P.

Here's a photo (which was alredy posted here a few times) of MJ whispering the intro to "PYT" in Freddie's ear.

It was actually the Parade tour birthday gig from Detroit.

Oh, and guys - it's Freddie - not 'Freddy'. lol

He was a big admirer of Prince, and loved 'Kiss' I know these things as fact.

Also, the feeling appears to have been somewhat mutual, as according to the butler who worked for Prince during UK rehearsals for the S.O.T.T. tour, Prince spent a considerable amount of time in his room watching Queen shows on video when relaxing.

Parade tour (1986)
Prince does his best Freddie Mercury impersonation.

Welcome to Behind The Photo™

Freddie: John, why are you smiling like that? Michael is over here chatting me up. He wants me to go over to Liberace's house with Webster.

John: Oh sorry mate. Me wife just called. I got another million pound cheque for "Another One Bites The Dust." That was a big one wasn't it?

(To lady passing by)

John: Pardon me love, may I tell you something?

Lady: John Deacon? Why yes, certainly!

John: I'm wealthy, b****!

Lady: Well, I Never! (And walks off)

Freddie: John, Michael is really laying it on over here. He is putting me under pressure.

John: (grabs bass) Wait a minute that's a blooming idea. (plays bass line) Do do do, do do do, do. Pressure. That'll be a another million pound cheque. I just know somebody will do something with a great song like that.

MJ: (sings) Now is the perfect time
We can make it right
Hit the city lights

Freddie: Michael stop it. Despite my mustache I have to look tough and rough. You're putting me in a state of shock.

MJ: Ooh that's it! I love it.

Freddie: What darling?

MJ: State Of Shock! We could do a song together. You and I can sing it and Queen could play the music.

John: Sounds good mate! We have to go onstage now.

MJ: It'll be great. After Steve tricked me into singing smooth music we can get smelly again.

Freddie: OK. Call your brothers and let's do it.

MJ: (Rolls eyes) Why should I call them?

Freddie: You share your success with your family darling. Liza always sings about sharing. We shared some coke at Studio 54 once.

MJ: (Sighs) I thought she liked Pepsi. OK. Liza said that huh?

Months later MJ receives a call.

"All right then. Wot's this bloody rubbish with you and Queen?"

MJ: Who is it?

"It's Mick"

MJ: Mick who?

Mick: It's Mick F***** Jagger! (Chords to "Start Me Up" sound off)
Now look here, Queen has gotten all soft and they're doing disco now. Take Freddie off the track and put me on it.

MJ: Uh, well.....

Mick: You'll never get anywhere with that lot. (Starts strutting around while talking.) Look, me and Keith will come play on it. Wipe Queen off the track.

(Keith Richards wakes up.) Are you talking about doing a bloody solo album again? I'll slit your f***** throat. It's The Stones or nothing. (Wraps phone cord around Mick's neck. Before Ron Wood grabs him.)

MJ: What's going on?

Mick: (Gasping for air) Uh, we're doing a photo shoot and Keith and Woody are playing around. Heh heh big kids you know.

Keith: (Loudly) We ain't Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. We're the F***** Stones. Tell Michael The Jackson Five can open for us in LA.

Mick: (Takes phone into another room) Now look. This guy Prince is number one. He opened for The Stones a few years ago. We gave him his start and now he's a bloody star! Purple Rain made a bunch of f***** money.

MJ: Yeah, I think we could have Freddie on one verse and you.....

Mick: (Cutting him off) How could you do those bloody awful songs with McCartney after what he did to Stevie? He made him sing that "Ebony And Ivory" crap and played all the instruments in the video while Stevie sat there smiling asking what was happening. Stevie was pissed when I told him about it. Me and Stevie have 50 albums of material from when he toured with us.

MJ: OK. Let's do it.

A week later a Limo pulls up to the studio and out comes Mick F***** Jagger" (Chords to "Start Me Up" sound off again.)

"Gotta Be Mine/'Cause You're So Fine." Michael stops smiling and puts on dark shades.

MJ: Uh, Bruce, can we try it again? Something didn't sound right.

"I Like It When You Tease/Please Baby Please"

Jackie: Hey Mick, you were just a little bit flat at the end.

Mick: It's Only Rock and Roll But I Like It. All right then. Roll the tape

Joe Jackson walks in

Mick: JOE! (Walks over and shakes his hand.) How are you mate? Me and you are Leos. We're King Of The Jungle. We don't take no s*** off nobody!" (Struts back into studio.)

Joe: (Smiling) That's right. (Whispers to Jermaine) Who is that?

Jermaine: That's Mick Jagger from The Stones. Since Michael is between albums. I'm the hottest brother and I should be singing with him.

Joe: Well, let's see what happens Jermaine.

Later that night MJ is sitting at the console shaking his head.

MJ: I can't release this.

Joe Jackson: Why not? I have a good feeling about that guy. Leos are champions. We never go wrong in business.

MJ: I don't know Joe.

Joe Jackson: Boy, put that record out with that guy from The Beatles and shut up. Let's take this to the bank.
