Are Oasis the worse band ever to sell millions?

I own every oasis album but have realised over the last year how shit they are.

Noel can write great songs on his acoustic guitar but there's nothing else going on. The rythm section is non existant, EVERY guitar riff and solo is nicked and liam is hit or miss with his vocals.

Nearly every song off evry album is unorginal from; supersonic, live forever, headshrinker, better man, masterplan, wonderwall, force of nature, half the world, all around the world, roll with it e.t.c ARE ALL RIPPED OFF DIRECTLY from other bands.

Oasis don;t take ideas from others and add their own stuff; THEY DIRECTLY COPY EXACTLY THE SAME.

I can't beleive these muppets actually have said apart from the beatles they are the only great band( noel said it on patrick keielty; i watched).

If your a fan, name a song and i 'll tell you where it;s from.

They do a neat job when it comes to biting others, but they're not smart enough to hide the evidence.

They could've at least gone the samples way, instead of stealing the whole damn thing and making a mockery of their own catalogue

i've never found them to be very interesting. i always thought their sound was pretty middle-of-the-road. i like their drunken hijinx, though. always good for a laugh.

Ditto on all of that. lol

My main problem with them though is that I just cannot stand Liam's voice. disbelief

This is true though. hmmm

I'd listen to Oasis anyday, over some of the other crap that's out there right now. Although I think mikek1 is talking about rock bands though. hmmm

Definately Maybe is just a classic album, full of great tunes and a real raw hunger, but Morning Glory is overrated and stodgy. Be Here Now has some good moments, although it's overlong and bloated as a whole.

As for the rest of them, they could probably be condensed into one half decent album.

Now that's an interesting topic right there. hmmm What bands would you consider mall punk bands? I try to remain ignorant of such bands, biggrin so the only ones I can think of that I've actually heard are Good Charlotte. barf

any band where a bunch of schmucks try to dress like the red hot chili peppers and sound like a watered down version of social distortion.

To be fair, tho', they chose the tracks for the new Best Of themselves and only four tracks beyond the second album made the cut.
Obviously they know their best days are behind them.

First two albums rule. music

oh for fuck's sake, who cares if they were nicked tunes, they were great.
the only sad thing about oasis is their pathetic attitudes and the way it
all came crashing down because of their fucked up egos that should have
spent some more time writing more cool tunes (nicked or not) instead of
getting drunk and vomiting all over damon albarn, lol.

I love, love, love Oasis. They put some much needed glamour back into rock n roll back in 1994, both musically and image-wise. First two albums rule, the rest is merely very good. As for all this talk about them ripping off other rock acts, that comes part and parcel with the territory. This is rock and roll - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. At least Oasis are good at it.

Mate, you're forgetting the lyrics which have to rank - along with fellow Mancunian Barney Sumner's - as some of the moist childish/retarded gibberish ever written.

Ok, help me out on Rock N Roll Star, Morning Glory and Acquiesce.
