Yeah, they were produced by Jesse. Jesse also wrote damn near all of the songs on the album. I'm a casual friend with Dee Dee, the guitarist. My band at the time, Amalgam, used to gig a lot on the same bill as Dee Dee's band Dirty Diapers, who's lead singer was also the vocalist in Da'Krash. Both our bands were also on the same bill as Weapon of Choice. That's Lonnie's band, brother to Norwood of Fishbone. Dee Dee went on to play in Bootsy's band for a while (lucky motherfucker!) when Bootsy went to Japan. While he was playing with Bootsy, they did a few live dates with Ice Cube as his backing band. But from my band being on the same bill with Dirty Diapers, through Dee Dee, my band got to open up for Bootsy at The House of Blues! So, I always will owe Dee for that. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

He's a left handed player. Anyway, there was a cool thread over in the Ass. Artists forum well over a year ago titled Mazerati vs. Da'Krash. U know, two former P proteges in Jesse and Brown Mark, who both produced and wrote the bulk of their albums. Even though Dee is my boy and all, it's not a better album than Mazerati's first album. But of course, they benifited from having a little help from P. He wrote "Strawberry Lover" although he's uncredited. And "100 M.P.H/" which of course, he took credit for. He also offered them "Jerk Out" but Sir Casey didn't feel at ease doing the original lyrics. When The Time got around to doing it, P altered the lyrics big time. I have it on cassette - I like the one cut where Jesse "cuts 'em" with some cool guitar. I think my favorite song is "Easy Come, Easy Go". That's some groove!
I dig Dee's guitar playing - to me, he sorta resembled Randy Jackson. Anybody remember the hot young thing in the "Wasn't I Good to Ya?" video? She was In a Video Soul interview on BET, they thought so, too. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth | |
