Is youtube a MTV killer just like ipod killed clear channel

Today clear channel was in the news because they got bought by private eqity firm
at price of $37/share but back in 2000 clear channel stock was trading at $92/share and then the ipod came and ppl stopped listening to radio and the ad revenue slumped like crazy and then i had to be bought out

Todays all the videos r on youtube. i bet its goin to have a long term effect on th e effect of MTV and ppl wont be forced to watch lame videos anymore with pretty much a monopoly that MTV/vh1(viacom) are rite now!!!

its so easy to watch videos on youtube not the messy interface mtv.com have

I pray that this is true, MTV has to be put to sleep, between its reality shows, and all the shows about artists showing me their houses and cars, while people are homeless, MTV is just a Tacky mess, MTV2 is just repeating the same crap from MTV. The fact that there are ways to download things from YouTube and im sure very soon it will all be legal probably for a fee at somepoint, you will probably be able to just make your own MTV channel on Youtube and not have to sit throw commercials, reality shows,Vjs and all that other nonsense, MTV RIP!

Exactly! For me MTV has died years ago and it should be made final. Goodbye tacky mess I'm not gonna miss you.

I don't think MTV will be affected at all as the channel has not shown videos in quite some years.

sorry, people didn't stop listening to the radio because of iPods. people had cassette and CD players in their cars for decades before anyone even invented the iPod.

I notice some videos have already been taken off youtube, so the suits are already watering things down.

I think that MTV is killing itself as well. It´s very hard to come across music there nowadays. And if you do, it´s the same shit over and over again....
I wish they´d air not just only old music vidoes, but also old performances - full performances, more concerts etc. ´These days it´s turning more into reality TV, really.
