ANALOG BROTHERS

Thanks for this cd suggestion. This cd slam just a little. It's like a New Power Generation produced cd ,but with Kool Keith and Ice T rapping on it. Deep space synth grooves. It's quite murky, but I'm in the mood. Ice T does some of his best rapping on here.

It´s funny, some people on this board said exactly the opposite.
I like how he raps on this album, and remember he also created a lot of those beats and melodies and played synths and other stuff.

This album is totally underrated and deserves much more recognition, it´s one of my favorite Ice-T related records.
My favorite raps by Ice-T are on his old 12 " maxis from 1985-1986 ( Dog N The Wax, Ya Don´t Quit, 6 N the Morning ) and on his debut album RHYME PAYS....

Rhyme Pays is still one of my all time favorite rap albums EVER, supertight, simple but great drum programming by Afrika Islam back when he was the epitome of the Hip Hop movement, scratching by DJ Evil E , and Ice-T was ON FIRE when he made this album.

I know every single lyric of it by heart because I have probably listened to it a couple of thousand times.
Squeeze The Trigger, Pain, Rhyme Pays, and Pimpin Ain´t Easy are some of his best raps ever.

Especially Squeeze The Trigger...he has his way with words....a true talent and an old school legend who is still kinda cool in his own weird way, and a very intelligent and extremely articulate person.

My favorite one on the Analog Brother album is We Sleep Days.

They should hook up again with the original line up and release another album, the project kinda disappeared after Ice got replaced.

Have you ever seen the Analog Brothers live ?

I have seen Ice in his prime, by the way....still have some great pictures.

i have a couple of early ice -t cd's.i actually have them boxed away, though.it's been a whil.i have never been of the opinion that he is a good rapper, however,i like him on Analog. Why was he replaced? I think they should do another project.Keith has a new cd coming out like every other month so I don't know whay he couldn't have projects with everyone. It may be interesting to hear q-tip rap over some keith deep space grooves.Or he could do like an afro-space thang with mos def laying down rhymes and grooves.

I did find a copy of The Commissioner and I can't wait for that!I also found a cd called Execution One. I don't know what to expect, but I will let you know. I am more of a jazz head ,but there are some rappers like Keith,Mos,and Tip that grab my attention. MF Doom,Madlib,Redman, and J_Dilla are other hip hop artists that I support and ,of course,Jay Z and The Roots.I try to grab all I can. Too many grooves in the world to listen to just one thang.
