I felt bad for Michael because he obviously had no idea that this was being hyped up by the media as some huge "comeback performance."

I mean, he was still holding his award in his hand when he was singing. It was obviously never his intention to put on a proper performance.

Still, it was nice to see everyone going nuts over him! No-one gave a toss about Beyonce or Rhianna or Nelly Furtado. They were just all chanting for Michael.

He moved on so well, that the whole of his life is a big mess. He can't even perform anymore, yet he can go to award shows to collect silly awards and soack yup the
hysteria that naive, deluded fans throw at him. Infact I think his brothers have moved on even better than he has, no one is going hysterical over them, but they are not being called "flops" either and they look 10 times more healthier and better looking he does, even though apart from Randy they are all older than him.

You're as boring and repetitive as the last three Janet albums.

And your the typical Michael Jackson fan, deluded. Has long has there is hysteria in the air then everything alright...well there is hysteria in the area for lots of boy bands too, it really doesn't mean anything...

The only pathetic thing around here is you. You think Mike lost it after the early 80s and can't accept that many people actually like the music he's recorded since then.

You don't like it, fine. But there's no rule that says everyone else has to agree with you.

Your forgetting something, this isn't a MJ fansite full of over-sensitive, defenisve Michael fans like you, so I can say what I like about the man whether peeps agree with me or not, afterall it's not as if I am going to get banned because I insult "The King of Pop"lol lol

You most certainly can say what you like about him. Problem is you say the same thing over and over... all I'm saying is that you seem to have an issue with people who like his post-Thriller work. If you don't like it then you don't like it, but why constantly rip on those that do?

Over-sensitive and defensive?
No, I just don't buy into the constant crap written about the man which is sucked up and spat back out by idiots who don't look beyond tabloid bullshit.

Does MJ think that the longer his wig is the more it will distract from his train wreck of a face?
The only way that's gonna happen is if he turns that sucker around and starts sporting the "Cousin Itt" look. lol
Sounds like, apart from the fans inside, the whole appearance was a big bust. Nothing spectacular,or even riveting. The greatest entertainer? Not anymore. Not by a long shot. The greatest freak show? Yep.

I have to ask the same question. I think he looks bloody awful. Everything about him is fake and he looks like the walking dead. I was hoping he would come out and do something worthwhile, but I guess I should've known better. I think the man lives in a complete dream world.

Michael Jackson Returns to Spotlight

- - - - - - - - - - - -

By KATIE FRETLAND Associated Press Writer

November 15,2006 | LONDON -- Michael Jackson gave his first public performance Wednesday since his acquittal on child molestation charges a year-and-a-half ago -- a fleeting rendition of "We are the World" surrounded by youthful singers.

Jackson, 48, sang at the World Music Awards in London, which was honoring him with an award commemorating the 25th anniversary of his hugely popular album, "Thriller."

But the reclusive pop icon, who has been traveling in Europe since his June 2005 acquittal in California, did not perform the album title song as some expected. Instead he appeared on stage and sang among a group of swaying, clapping kids -- until the musical accompaniment inexplicably stopped. lol

"There have been so many people who have loved me and stood by me. I love all the fans from the bottom of my heart," Jackson said before flinging his black jacket into the crowd and exiting the stage.

Earlier, Jackson's appearance outside the Earl's Court Arena in west London inspired glee and bedlam among hundreds of fans, who scrambled for photos and reached out to touch his gloved hand.

Jackson, clad in black and wearing his trademark shades, also spoke briefly to journalists. But the roar of the crowd combined with the singer's own low-decibel delivery ensured few could hear anything he said.

Asked where he has been living, Jackson replied: "All over the place."

In recent days, he reportedly rented an entire London hotel for $95,000 a night.

Jackson has spent time in Bahrain and Ireland since he was acquitted, making few public appearances.

Jackson's "Thriller" album won eight Grammy Awards and sold more than 50 million copies.

I can't even look back at MJ's career now without thinking: what a tragedy.

Here we have a remarkably talented, brilliant performer and singer/songwriter who was apparently so unhappy with himself that he kept compulsively trying to change and change and change until he turned himself into something that hardly looks human. He went too far and it was too late to turn back.

I think it takes a certain amount of courage to want to continue on as best he can in the public eye after all he has done to himself.

Courage, or delusion. I don't know which. Either way, it's a sad story.
