Hey Mike,

Jaclyn Smith called. She said she wants her damn hair back!!

I think Jacyln has to stand in line with this girl:

Shouldn't that be "(S)he looks good?" That is one confused middle-aged man.

Michael Jackson Returns to Spotlight

- - - - - - - - - - - -

By KATIE FRETLAND Associated Press Writer

November 15,2006 | LONDON -- Michael Jackson gave his first public performance Wednesday since his acquittal on child molestation charges a year-and-a-half ago -- a fleeting rendition of "We are the World" surrounded by youthful singers.

Jackson, 48, sang at the World Music Awards in London, which was honoring him with an award commemorating the 25th anniversary of his hugely popular album, "Thriller."

But the reclusive pop icon, who has been traveling in Europe since his June 2005 acquittal in California, did not perform the album title song as some expected. Instead he appeared on stage and sang among a group of swaying, clapping kids -- until the musical accompaniment inexplicably stopped. lol

"There have been so many people who have loved me and stood by me. I love all the fans from the bottom of my heart," Jackson said before flinging his black jacket into the crowd and exiting the stage.

Earlier, Jackson's appearance outside the Earl's Court Arena in west London inspired glee and bedlam among hundreds of fans, who scrambled for photos and reached out to touch his gloved hand.

Jackson, clad in black and wearing his trademark shades, also spoke briefly to journalists. But the roar of the crowd combined with the singer's own low-decibel delivery ensured few could hear anything he said.

Asked where he has been living, Jackson replied: "All over the place."

In recent days, he reportedly rented an entire London hotel for $95,000 a night.

Jackson has spent time in Bahrain and Ireland since he was acquitted, making few public appearances.

Jackson's "Thriller" album won eight Grammy Awards and sold more than 50 million copies.

Did Jackson ever say that he will perform? NO!

It was the media that pretended he wanted to do Thriller. But it was never confirmed. So it's all the medias problem. They were lying.

And what was that about the fans booing? I saw them cheering and he gave autographs. So I don't know where they got their news from?!

He only performed 2 verses of 'We Are The World' with a choir of children.

At the end of the day MJ needs to work a lot harder than that if he wants to reclaim his position in music - but I just don't think he's capable of it anymore, he's too weak. On the Bad tour he belted out every song live for 2 hours. On his most recent performances he mimes through the whole thing. He just can't do the dancing and singing anymore.

Funny that Beyonce introduced him, just like she introduced Prince, what, is that like her job now?!

Typically, over on various MJ forums the more sensible fans, that are saying they were disappointed about last night and that MJ should be doing more to re-engage with his fans and especially the public at large, are being shouted down and abused by the more rabid fans.

Him and his people can't go on just pissing off the people who have remained fans through his difficult times, especially the trial, whilst offering nothing but false rumours and plans that come to nothing.

He needs to realise that he doesn't have as much good will in the bank as he did in the 80's and early 90's.

I don´t know though if he truly owes us anything....He doesn´t have to pay me back for my love and support. He´s deserved already over his life. He´s given me 40 years of entertainment. I can´t expect him to be my slave and entertain me till his death. Not that I wouldn´t miss him. I am DYING to see and hear him again. I miss him incredibly. But Mike´s free to do whatever he wants to do as far as I am concerned. And if he truly comes back again than I will be eternally grateful.
i didn´t expect from him anything last night and ppl who did were quite naive. At some boards pll were even hoping for him to do some new stuff, I mean c´mon. Don´t they know him by now? Mike has always took his time. He´s a perfectionist and it didn´t look like he´s been rehearsing so the way it turned out was exactly what I expected.
And just happy to see him alive and smiling after all that humiliation he´s been through.

I'm happy to see him looking healthier too and glad that he's out and about again. I also really hope he can come back with a good album.

But I think that last night was a missed opportunity that could have won him some respect and time to get himself truly back on track.
