Could Britney make a comeback? I think Janet proved this year that losing a bunch of weight isn't the only key to making a comeback, but I'm assuming Britney will whip herself back into shape.
Reason I'm asking "Could Britney make a comeback" is because a little birdy told me Pharrell is producing Britney again.

Reason I'm asking "Could Britney make a comeback" is because a little birdy told me Pharrell is producing Britney again. I dont think Britney will have any trouble getting back to where she was, or at least close to it, she is a performer that does the kinds of things that Madonna does to get your attention and to keep you interested. With Janet it wasnt so much about looking hot as it did that her Music is strictly RB, she has totally alienated the POP world due to her believe in JD and thinking he knows whats hot, well he doesnt, the whole Mariah MIMI thing was a fluke, plus it really had nothing to do with him, the first single from MIMI didnt do well, it was the second single which he did Produce, but it was a Ballady type song that crossed all categories. I think whatever Britney does the whole world will be watching because they never really stopped watching her, she just stopped doing music, instead she has become the tabloid joke, but it has kept her name out there, and thats what the business is about. I think she could now. It os shocking to me the amount of goodwill and forgiveness that has been shown to her in the media by finally annoucning the divorce from Kevin. She needs to take some steps now though, while the media is supporting her.

Brittney always just came off as a tool to me. She doesn't really have any vision or ambition or ideas of her own, she was just a vehicle for some money hungry producers and studio execs. She's sounds like she's over all that now - look how she wrecked her image over the past few years - but I don't think she has a whole lot to say or offer on her own.
Her next album will grab a little attention, since it will be labeled as her "comeback", but after that, it's going to be all downhill for her unless she does something remarkable. They'll probably save a spot for her on Hollywood Squares...

Definitely.
Especially if Pharrell is producing her again. The Normal Whores Club

a big "maybe". she gets plus points for the potential release of the sex tape but then looses equal points for the potential lose of the teen-bob crowd...
i'd say at this point its a toss-up. Space for sale...

Reason I'm asking "Could Britney make a comeback" is because a little birdy told me Pharrell is producing Britney again. While I pray that Britney won't have a big comeback, the media will see to it that she does. Even if the album sucks and more likely than not it will, it'll be huge and it's a damn shame. Bitch can't sing to save a dog and it depresses me how many tone deaf jackasses are going to be all up on that shit while real artist like Van Hunt couldn't even buy a couple of minutes of time on a show like Entertainment Tonight. It's sickening. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

most of her success was during 1999-2001 and the target was the teen crowd who dont have much music sense and once she move past those teen yrs her success hasnt been really there!!
unlike justin and christina who have had much more success with post teens

I think though Britneys sales may have nosedived she still had alot of success worldwide, which at this point outwieghs the US market which is but a small fraction in music anymore. But the Britney thing and the "comeback" idea reminded me of something Eddie Murphy said about 15 years ago, he said, "First no one knows you, then your the Hot thing, then people deny they like you, then your either on drugs, broke,or gay or all of them, and then your making a comeback". "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I think its gonna be interesting to see the direction that Brit's career takes now. While I guess you can call her an icon, she's somewhat of a Paula Abdul or Boy George type of icon in the sense that she's known from a particular time. This, of course, is unlike Madonna, Prince, MJ, maybe JJ, Cher, Elvis Presley, and The Beatles, whom are icons that are known through generations. This isn't terribly bad, since she's not exactly either Leif Garret or Gary Coleman, but it's a bit too novelty to be really good.
I think Britney has the potential to reinvent herself and be that multi generational icon. She still, in fact, has a relatively high fanbase. It's just a matter of whether she reinvents herself or does the same dog and pony show. I always thought it'd be interesting to have Brit do a dance album ala Madonna's Confessions album. I doubt it'll happen, but it'd be a pretty cool change of pace.

Benny Medina is managaing/advising her at the moment. something tells me he told her only way to make a comeback is to drop the husband.
She's recorded with ne*yo and Pharrell, and I'm sure she still can't sing, so who gives a f**K Also Janet didn't make comeback because, yes JD thought he could recreate "mimi" album but he doesn't realise Mariah uses his production because they are basic and let her voice (and background vocalists) have heaps of room to create the song over his radio friendly beats, but when you match that same production to a minimal singer, you get one big snore fest, Janet needs dynamaic production to make up for her voice, not the other way around.
