Continuum reminds more of a latter day Eric Clapton album than anything else, such as Reptile or Going Home. A mix of smooth rock and blues, with a bit of accoustic and soul thrown in.
Mayer even acknowledges the he steals from him in the CD booklet. That's not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. | |

It's interesting that he's moved completely away from the pop sensation he was and into the relatively faceless session-guy arena I think he may be going for credibility amongst other musicians. Or letting the public know that he's not just another pretty face that does the Light-Pop thing. Or even better, he's just doing whatever the hell he feels like doing. listening to Continuum for the first time right now. Diggin' it, I like the quality of his voice... some of these songs make me feel like I should be @ Cost Plus buying furniture, but there's some nice shit here    I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Mayer is talented, when it comes to covering other peoples songs but when it comes to his own material he's weak, only song i ever liked was Clarity... song writing was crisp and so was the production YOU r so wrong... Mayer is talended .. with his own songs | |
