A few weeks ago I heard the Coldplay song "Clocks" redone with a completely Latin vibe. Loved it instantly. My roommate just ordered the cd that it came from -- a whole series of covers re-recorded by the original artists together with members of the Buena Vista Social Club. this sounds interesting. I'll have to check out the site. Along the same line(sort of)..I just picked up this AMAZING disc by Novalima. Its called"Afro" and it blends traditional Peruvian rhythms with some heavy percussion and light electronica. Its the best thing I've heard all year. Definitely worth checking out.
