Thriller is around that number...this is for total albums.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Ah, why does every thread has go into that "he looks fucking horrible" part and "since Thriller he´s worth nothing."....? You know guys, a lot of you critice MJ for keep trying to top Thriller, yet you are the ones who expect it from him, because everything less than that means he´s over for you....I mean during History he was still at the peak - not Thriller peak, but at the peak compared to everyone else.....His History concert here in Prague saw over 150 000 ppl, for God´s sake. His only "failure" was Invincible which sold around 10 milions copies, I believe. I think that most artists would give anything for such "failure" and they don´t even have to face all the negative publicity he´s recieved over all those years.

Being a fan of Prince and music in general I can imagine U being a MJ fan it isn't fun 2 read all those remarks about his looks.
But being a fan doesn't mean someone can't tell right from wrong, good from bad.Give me e few minutes and I will tell U some things about Prince that I didn't like that much wink

So,if someone says MJ looks good I think it's just a die-hard fan
defending his fav artist.
I'm not saying this 2 make fun of the man, even I grew up with the music of The Jacksons as a kid be4 knowing it was MJ who was part of this group.
It's a shame, that's all and I hope he can put out a great album in time that will overshadow all the gossip.

Well no, Bad and Dangerous sold 30 million each, Off The Wall and HIStory round 18 mlj, BOTDF 6 and Invincible 10.
That's more than 104 total.

Anyway I really wonder how they came up with that 104 million for Thriller. In that homevideos special Michael himself said it sold 60 mlj, and that was 2003..

I agree with u 100%..BUT...I honestly think michael doesn't even have a 10% chance at getting a hit record again...maybe if he made a song called Me and OJ got away with it..Then he could attract millions again..but just him singing and dancing looking the way he does..I DOUBT its gonna work...remember how FAKE and stupid the whole chris tucker "you rock my world" single/video came off ??? and thats b4 the last trial... eek

I'm not. The hundreds of fans that went to see MJ at his hotel room, at the Guinness World Records headquaters and at the World Music Awards haven't. The media at the WMA's who asked nothing of MJ but when his new album is coming out and what it's going to be like haven't given up on him. And everyone still talking about him in this thread and all the other Michael Jackson threads clearly haven;t given up on him even if they don't like to admit it.

Well, don´t worry, I could also tell you few things about MJ that I didn´t like. It´s not that he never messed up. It´s just that non-MJ-fans see him doing wrong with everything, so you just have to defend him.
But believe me, when I say that I like the way he looks, it´s not me just defending him. When I say it, I mean it. I guess I might have just weird taste, but who has the right to give standarts for beauty. Not that he looks great all the time, but he can have his good moments. So why should I bash him on good/ better days.
Looking good

Looking bad

Yo Dag...The thing is, people should be allowed to defend MJ if they want...But by making statements such as 'I like the way MJ looks,' it takes all the credibility out of your defense of MJ...I don't care if you are a hardcore MJ who thinks he is innocent and he is the greatest entertainer of all time...To say that there's nothing wrong with the way MJ looks is where you lose folks...

yeah, I know, but should I lie about it when I like the way he happens to look on that particular occasion?
Wanna know what´s wrong with him these days? He still hasn´t put on enought weight to look "normally", "healthy". He got incredibly skinny during the trial and he still hasn´t gotten out of that. He needs to eat more.
And secondly it´s his deadly white skin.....but what can you do about that?
Thirdly - it´s his hair thatś been looking bad recently.
But on the World Music awards show, he got quite a nice make-up, his hair was not that bad and I think he looked great - happy, smiling and relatively good compared to what he looked in the past few months....The clothes looked great on him, so what? Why cxan´t I say he looked great? Those ppl who say he looks awful are those who don´t like the way he looks in general. I know they´re the majority, but so what?

That's not true though dag...Folks say that MJ looks awful because they remember how he used to look: quite normal...Again, calling out folks that make silly comments like "MJ is a studio artist" is one thing (these folks are either yanking the chains of MJ fans or are just plain old haters of MJ's past talents...) Saying that all MJ needs is a little weight and a better wig to improve his appearance is quite another...Such a statement pure fandom...

SO what do you recommend? MOre surgery to make him look the way he used to?
I think the bottom line here is that ppl are simply not able to understand that someone could like him. by the time I found out that there was some MJ, he already had a surgery, so that has always come with him. I have always liked him, before or after surgery. The problem here is that ppl cannot understand it and find such comments as pure fandom, but ppl have just different tastes. Even Marilyn Manson was able to find himself a wife. lol

Again, it has little to do with 'different taste..' As a hardcore MJ you should know the stigma attached to being a devoted fan of the man...I don't care if you grew up with MJ's new physical appearance...It's commonsense enough to know that MJ's surgeries are past 'normal'...It's not about what MJ's critics want him to do now or whether he should get more surgery to look like the old Mike...It's just the reality that, as arguably the biggest entertainer of all time, the man is subject to such criticism...The thing is, if you are saying that you are able to look beyond MJ's phyical appearance because of your love of the man's music and legacy, that's one thing...But even as a MJ fan you have to admit that the man'sm appearance is not at all normal and still have respect for his musical legacy...It's quite possible...

Yes, I do know the stigma and I really hate the stigma....
See, it´s very hard to say to what extend it´s just the surgeries....I don´t want to say it´s because of vitiligo and that it´s not MJ´s fault or whatever, but in his case all those things (surgeries, vitiligo, his terrible hair these days etc.) came together magnifying 100 times the amazing changes that his appearance has undergone and as a greatest star, of course he´s getting the most criticism for that.
OF course his appearance is not "normal" meaning that hardly anybody else looks like that. But "not normal" does not mean that I can´t like it....

Me too hug

You can either compare what he looks like now to what he USED to look like
or you can compare what he looks like day-to-day.
which is certainly a much more optimistic way of looking at it.
